Your plants to other space
@dbrn32 I was going to move them when I start seeing the new growth after topping.
@dbrn32 I have a total of 8 in there now. I figured that should be good enough. You think it will be overkill?
Depends on how big you want them. You can make just about anything work.
@dbrn32 just want to make sure I have enough light.
@dbrn32 I have a 5x5 tent how many plants do you think I can fit in there?
A lot if the game is to keep then small and get as many as possible in. If youâre talking 1 gallon pots 6 rows of 6 easily. Not many if youâre gonna veg then out in larger pots, probably more like 4-9.
@dbrn32 I am doing 7 gallon pots. This will be for my flower tent. The veg tent is a 4x4
How long you plan to veg for?
@dbrn32 I was looking at around 4-5 weeks.
Probably donât need 7 gallon pot for that. Do you have any problems getting in tent and moving around? Wouldnât be an issue for me, but someone with back issues or similar may. On 4-5 week veg you could reasonably move plants in and out as needed to access center of tent. If thatâs not an issue you could probably do up to 9 plants grown naturally. A few less if youâll be bending on them.
@dbrn32 yes I was going to use LST bc I was going to use scrog. I donât have any back issues either, no problem getting in and out. I was just going to use 7âs bc I heard I will get a better yield.
Running a scrog is entirely different altogether. Do you plan on filling the entire 5x5?
Yes I was going to fill the whole thing up. Well I was going to train them and Bush them out then let them grow into the screen and tie them down. @dbrn32
Youâre probably not going to do that on 4-5 week veg time. Maybe more like 8 weeks?
Do you have access on both sides of your tent? Most people run minimal plants in a scrog because of the limited access to maintain the plants. You will see like a single plant fill a 3x3 or a 4x4 tent. Thatâs not exactly reasonable in a 5x5, so I get wanting to run more. But I feel like youâll have a mess on your hands in no time trying to execute a plan like that.
I wasnât a huge fan of running a scrog, so maybe not the best person to ask either. But I feel like if you were asking the right people they would have similar feedback. @Myfriendis410 @TDubWilly @merlin44 can you guys help a brotha out?
@dbrn32 what would be your best plan to approach it? I can get the front and one side, but if I should just grow as normal and put a trellis up so they dont fall over later on. Bc I didnt want to use bamboo stakes. Do you need a picture of my setup?
I donât need a picture, thanks though.
I think I would either ditch the screen and stay with the short veg time, or lower to a few plants and take the time to fill canopy with them. Iâm sure the others will have some thoughts to share tomorrow too.
@dbrn32 just making sure I am efficient in my grow and the best way that works for me.
I get it, you want that tent as full possible. You are just kinda in difficult spot with tent that big. I tagged tdubwilly because he is a scrog grower and also has a 5x5 tent. He has since went to multiple smaller tents for a number of reasons. His last couple of grows he only used half of tent for scrog. The other half had other neccessary equipment and room to work. I would really like to get his opinion on what is best for you.
The problem is that once you start training to screen everything is at least semi permanent. It seems a little sketchy in space that big with a lot of plants. I would kinda like to see it from perspective of being up for a challenge, but thatâs not good advice for a newer grower at all lol.
@dbrn32 my last grow was in a large walk in closet with 20 plants. I put a trellis up and I literally had to crawl on the floor to water and trim, so I am up for a challenge. The plants took up the entire closet, but I made it work.
