@dbrn32 I’m thinking about doing a mh/hps versus led for my next grow. I don’t have a lot of money but want to do a hands on experiment. I already have as u probably know a 400 watt mh/hps light. I’m only growing two plants at a time. One light per plant. What is a good but affordable led I could buy?
I’ve had really great luck with these
@Hogmaster just curious what’s your preference on lights?
I have 3-300w 1-600 &2-450s of the mezi lights now I’m using cmh 630 watt on a 6 foot rail light mover
and they love itMan you got it goin on!!
No bulbs came with it but with outdoor season coming up bulbs are 50 each they take 315 w bulb
Even A 315w cmh will do a 4x4 no issues
They look great my friend
I’m gonna get a 4 x8 tent for my next grow
A 4x8 with a light mover and what your using now or a cmh dude you would be set
These work outstanding I did 20 plants my last grow with it and 1 light
I’ve got a meizhi 450. It’s the only blurple panel I haven’t replaced. Pulls around 190w @ the wall and has given me good results.
I did an experiment with my diy bridgelux 12"x12" panel pulling 104w vs a Growstar 300 w/Cree led pulling 130w. The buds were around the same density, but the light spread on the diy was better. Overall I seemed to get more with the bridgelux panel, with less electricity, than the led.
Which would you prefer to win? I feel loke you need another metric to have an experiment. Like going watt for watt, dollar for dollar, or maybe by a light recommended for same space as 400 watt hps. I’ll have a hard time suggesting you buy a light that I don’t believe in.
I like the watt for watt idea. Because really, that’s what matters. Upfront costs are important, but if you’re in it for the long haul, energy consumption can make or break it.
