The VS1000 will veg for a while yet. You’re better off stashing money for a bit and making the bigger light purchase (HLG, KingBrite, AC Infinity just launched a new light that looks decent for cheap $$ - not sure it’s in the same class as HLG but it looks good on paper) instead of coming back to Amazon six times throughout your grow for supplemental lighting. By the end of the first grow, you’re gonna be wanting to ditch most of the blurple lights you pick up along the way.

A good 3x3 light from HLG = $300 (discount code DUDE works on most lights and gives 10% off, hence the $300)

There are even other options with HLG for a 3x3 in a similar range, I just have this one bookmarked because I’m toying with adding it to my own lineup.

A good 3x3 from Kingbrite = approx $230-300 depending on shipping - the range of lights between 320 watts and 480 watts is good.

And the AC Infinity light: $89 for 100 watts. It’s not amazing because it’s not rated for your space, but the AC plus your VS will be able to veg out and potentially flower your two plants. Personally I’d like more light but they haven’t released the 3x3 version yet.

So…is using the LED Bulbs a waste of time and money???. I can make the LED Bulb setup for less than$50… and I could set it up to get anywhere from 150w-250w… from what I have read on the internet…they seem to have a good light spectrum when using the 2700k and 5000k… plus I could change the setup for veg or flower

My opinion is you would be very disappointed in your end results. I know where your coming from and appreciate that though.

How long did it take for your shipping on the kingbrite from Alibaba???

Hmmm. I ordered it on 8/19 and received it on 8/26, so it wasn’t all that long. I did scour their different listings for one that said “dropship” or something to that effect that translated into “faster shipping to the US”. My order originated in Canada, where I believe it generally comes direct from China.

I saw in a diff thread you went with the HLG. Easy answer was either would have been 100% a great choice. You won’t be disappointed.

I did see quite a few of 480w like the kingbrite… but we’re around $50-100 cheaper… the details of them were the same as far as I could tell…(with my minimal experience)…it would be nice to know if anyone here has any good experience with them???
