Hi guys, i just found about the new Samsung LM301H, for horticulture, and apparently it is a bit more efficient than the 301B…
I was wondering if anyone has used it yet or if there’s any place you could get boards with the 301H?
There’s a brand called Niemi that’s already selling lights with them at niemiled

There is four 3x3 spaces in a 6x6. So more like 8 boards. If that’s the model you want to follow, 4 hlg-240h-c2100a and 8 qb 288 boards and 8 heatsinks.
It’s more efficient? I looked and appeared it was same exact led that had a sulfur protection. Look at data sheet flux binning data
Lm301b
Lm301h
Looks exactly the same to me.
Yes 8 is fine with me.
Ok, so it seems like just a marketing trick for Niemi to claim more efficiency from them…
They claim to be both cheaper and brighter
Seems like marketing garbage to me. Like they’re comparing at different currents, or bottom bin 301b to top bin 301h.
Samsung manufacturers the led, and they don’t seem to make any claims like that. Just that the 301h has anti sulfurization properties. The coating may change spectral distribution a little, which could also have some bearing on measurable light output. But they make it seem like a 14% increase, extremely doubtful.
Seemed pretty incredulous to me.
But, I did notice this today. For anyone on the fence about buying from hlg.
Seen that too.
All things considered, those are probably decent lights. But not necessarily better than 301b
You reccomend a good place to find parts?
Total bs. Looks like they’re having alibaba make those for them. Not to knock them.
Hlg or one of their authorized retailers for boards and heatsinks. I would check arrow electronics for the drivers. They usually have free overnight shipping over $50, and some sort of discount for new customers.
I preordered Photo Boost strips back at the end of August, received them October 6. Getting ready to start my build next weekend. I just preordered more. Going to build a second one. Hopefully this will be all the lighting I need for a while.
I love the photoboost light I built. The plants do too.
For anybody that wants to DYI a light. @dbrn32 turned me on to this video Photo Boost Strip DIY LED Grow Light Build - YouTube
Appreciate the information
Know anything about these dont think ive seen boards before now but i could be wrong. Gonna be building veg light soon only reason I’m asking might wait for them to release these boards.
Also I just noticed my 480 driver is running pretty hot to touch wondering if that is normal running at about 90% power sitting outside my tent
Ya, they have blue leds instead of red. I’m betting they will be available soon. Drivers will get hot, sounds pretty normal.
Photoboost or 288 rspec quantum boards. Which is better?
Thet are pretty much the same thing in different packages
