Other than a few leaves like this she is a good looking girl. She is a little slow on the development compared to my others. I just tying to learn as much as I can from the signs they are giving me. Thanks for your help.
That doesn’t look like calcium. Looks like ph is a little high for pro mix. But minus that half of a leaf and a few spots here and there, the plant looks as healthy as can be
Thanks. I’ve been working on keeping the pH in the soilless range and it snuck up on me a little. I’m working on getting it back down to the 5.9 range so she can access all the nutrients she need as at this stage. I’m not super worried I just don’t want it to get away from me. Plus I’m leaving tomorrow for a week on the road. Slurry test tonight and then an another adjustment tomorrow before I leave.
Did a slurry test and I’m getting the pH to move in the correct direction . Another watering or two and I should have the pH back where I like it. I think the plants are looking good and I have not seen any more leaves that concern me on the GL. Starting week 4 Monday and I’m happy with the progress of the bud development. Up for a watering tomorrow and then I have to leave their care to the sitter for a week. I’m sure they will be fine. I just have the same feeling I had the first time we left our baby overnight at my moms. I knew it would be fine but still a little uneasy, after all I survived.
A few pictures from tonight.
Gold Leaf Gold Leaf Bud Gorilla Glue Gorilla Glue Bud Train Wreck Bud Train Wreck Family PortraitIf you’re running organics and adding microbes, your pH will have a much wider working range. Don’t chase it too, much.
They look awesome @Bubblehead ! Have a safe trip!
Plants are looking great! The trim job you did earlier on has paid off. I like the way the plants look with an open canopy. If I can’t see through the plant it’s time for a trim.
Thanks for the advice, I am using microbial help. The pH is above 6.0 and the chart I’m referencing tells me both P and K are unavailable to the plant. Does that still hold true when using the microbes?
Thanks it will be a fast one back on Thursday as long as this dang weather will let us out tomorrow. We are predicted to have all the precipitation in the next 24-hours rain, sleet and snow. Lucky us!
Thanks, this is the first time I have defoliated that much I think the fancy name is schwazzing. I really like how the plants have responded. I have one more defoliation planned at week-7. I’ll see how brave I am when the time comes. I can hardly wait to see how much they change in the next 5-days.
Not necessarily. The microbes break things down in such a way that your plants have access to the nutrients in a much wider pH range.
Don’t start messing about too much with your pH. You spend lots of $ on microbes and organics. Let them do their jobs.
Thanks I learned something new today. I’ll give em a good dose tomorrow!
Promix can definitely be run safely in the low 6’s, even without microbes. However, with microbes you’re probably ok anywhere between 6-6.8.
I’m going to have to rethink my methodology. I was feed, water, feed, water but my slurry test was low on ppm 150-250 so I changed it up. I went feed, feed water this time and I don’t like the results. When I get back I’ll go back to the feed water cycle but give more nutrients on the feed days.
@blackthumbbetty coming through. Didn’t realize you were organic. When I did my organic grows I freaked out because my runoff was at 5.8, in soil. So I flushed and flushed one plant (even though nothing was wrong) and that plant experienced issue after issue after that. Organic goes against everything you read, lol. Just give them ph’d water and teas and you don’t have to worry about watering to runoff (unless an issue arises).
Thanks for the follow up. The only issue is the weird coloring on a couple leaves. I definitely don’t want to create problems. Dang I love this hobby I learn more and more everyday.
@Oldguy I want to improve my deficiency diagnosis. What book are you referencing in the picture?
This is my bible.
Been with me for last 10 years or so.
It has a lot of deficiencies in it but not all.
Zinc tends to be on new-new leaves (usually on leaves near buds, from my experience) and fairly high up on the plant. If it was zinc, it could be from too much phosphorus or using ro water/distilled/etc; if it was caused by pH, it’d have to be fairly alkaline to cause zinc issues.
There’s no twisting of leaves. Your buds look like they’re developing nicely. There’s no stalling of growth.
In other words:
Go enjoy your trip!
Exactly. Was posted for another member.
