I’m growing some autos in a 32x32 tent. I have a 600w led on them (they just sprouted), and I’d like to try to add a 150w high pressure sodium light to the tent. I read that there are good benefits when these two types of lights are combined and I’d like to give it a go. Would that be too much light/power? Is it overkill, or adequate?
Welcome to the community @Joethehippie I myself can’t help there but @dbrn32 is the guru an many others your in the right place
Thanks man
Welcome to the forum, great people around to help you. Drbn is one of our lighting gurus. I just wanted to add my 2 cents, HPS is more used for flower stage, than veggie.
What brand of 600w LED did you get? Make and model?
Bloomspec? Not sure what model but it was inexpensive.
Perhaps I should wait until the flowering stage and then add either the hps? Or maybe add another 300w led that I have?
Bloomspec 600 is about 130 watt light. Even with 150 watt hps light wouldn’t be too much light. If you don’t have problems maintaining canopy temps should be fine.
And if I wanted to stick with all led, would you think that 600w one would be enough in itself? Or would I need a bit more come flower?
Thanks everyone for your replies… this is awesome to connect with people
That led light probably isn’t much better than the 150 hps, maybe not better at all. If you wanted to stick with leds I would go with a different fixture.
