I have four ladies started !
All ILGM genetics. One Al-47, one bible gum, and two Gold leaf !
Not in grow tent but enclosed room!
I am in fox farms ocean blend not nutrients whatsoever added !
But they leave have shown what looks like nutrient burn.
Could it be from ph too low. This last gallon was a 5.9 ! Will that lower ph value cause a
“ burn” on my leaves ??
Never crossed my mind that the cause might be root bound !
I was worried my ph was too low !I always target 6 ph give or take a couple tenths
Thanks for the rapid responses !
I’ll try repotting them today !
Gallon pots or straight to my 5 gl grow bags?
@Big-D transplant into their final home. In veg your target ph is 6.3 to 6.5 in flower 6.5 to 6.8 after you transplant and settled in, check ph runoff.
That soil could be a little hot for the seedlings, I made that mistake on my last go around. I’m using coast of Maine seedling soil now, start in solo cups and when they get 2-3 weeks i upsize to the final pot with the regular soil and no nutes for at least another 2-3 weeks.
One of these folks is knowledgeable on the FoxFarm Soils. I use Coast of Maine Stonington Blend and also COM seed starter. There are ph differences when it comes to FF. Someone will chime in shortly. Do you have access to FF Strawberry Farm? I know folks who start in that but put another one in the bottom…
Thats kinda like apples and oranges. Coco and perlite is completely inert and FFOF is high Nitrogen vegging soil. I have used FFOF to start all but 5 plants in 2.5 years of growing. Never burned a seedling from OF. Maybe its because I cut it with 25% perlite, maybe years ago they changed the mix and have sense changed back to an less hot mix, i dunno. Have had ZERO problems ever with seedlings and OF doing back to back autoflower grows for 2 years.
Agreed! Not to mention coco steals calcium away from plants and has to be compensated for when using coco.
Strawberry Fields is great for flowering as the mix is basicly the exact opposite of OF. OF high N low P and K, SF being low N high P and K. The two make great bedfellows for growing autoflowers. Many use light warrior or happy frog for seed starting.
I appreciate the tag! @ChittyChittyBangin I also think it’s a bad idea, but if you already have you need to continue to treat it as soil. Not coco, Add EWC and keep growing along brother!
I detest the new iteration of Fox Farms’ soil blends. They are inconsistent at best, and consistently terrible - they either start with a toxic pH level (4.0) or they rapidly degrade into it. I see pH tanking in fox farms dirt from other growers constantly.
Some growers use FF products successfully because each and every one of their products is designed to work together. Means you need to be equipped with Sledgehammer to do a flush on schedule with the entire rest of their nutrient line. That’s fine, if you like following a rigid routine. It ain’t my style, but I’m not much of a “structured” grower.
Long story short, I recommend a soil slurry test. YouTube a video, I’m pretty sh!t at explaining it. I’m gonna bet ya that your pH inside the FF soil is low low, and you’ll need to do a generous flush to reset the pH levels.
