Hey peeps so im a first time grower and im having a couple complications while very close to switching from veg to flower the older growth fan leaves have begun to yellowish out with a brown huge to them and are completly dieing leaves first soften and wilt then die and become hard and stiff im growing in coco with organic dry admendments reamended 1 week prior to the yellowing thought lack of nutes but yellowing and dieing off has contined and gotten worse but new growth is still being shown and yellowings olny happing towards bottom of plants watering when pots feel dry/verydry did have a small run in with fungus gnats i let the soil dry and numbers have decresed any thoughts?

I don’t grow in coco but I have heard that allowing it to dry is not good and it’s more important to watch your ph levels more closely coco doesn’t help with ph like soil does. It looks to me it’s your lower leaves that aren’t getting much light so the plant is just doing some self defoliation which is not a problem. I’m going to tag in a guy I know that does dry amendments in coco for his two cents he will know more about coco 4sure… @Axemanjake23 hello ol friend thought you would be more helpful here than I am, thanks

Nitrogen deficiency, it’s a mobile nutrient so it effects bottom growth 1st. Are you phing your water if yes then you just need to let the dry amendments break down assuming you have an active bacteria , if you don’t you need to switch to hydro nutes Asap . You also need to pick up your pots , they should never be lighter then slight effort to lift.

Water/feed everyday. Do not let the coco dry out. What size pot?

3 gal pot 50% mix coco 25% worm castings 25% perlight
Medium contains active mycorrhizae and bacillus n plants are waterd with recharge that contains active glomus and bacillus every other watering with ph water between 6-7

@KeystoneCops has retired from the forum. Coco is very attractive to gnats. Would recommend sticky traps. Coco is an inert medium that retains little moisture. It is technically a Hydroponic grow. Read @Hellraiser 's Coco journal for further understanding.
Your pictures show you aren’t growing in pure Coco tho, perlite is an additive not ammendment. What is the medium? May want to ticket it.

It’s normal for old fan leaves to die off and be eaten by the plant, also normal for new growth in flower stretch to be lime green. Looks like nitrogen here tho.

But from the one or two fans? Not bad at all. They will drain useless lowers.
Yes, Budz is on track. All my plants pull food from old lower leaves and then they yellow and die off.
Your job is to remove them before they get diseased. Those leaves are susceptible to fungus and rot.
Let the plant take back the nutrients and once the leaf is starting to brown and wither remove it and trash it. Upper growth looks healthy. Some individual plants drop more leaves than others, but they all do to some extent.

Hey bud I grow organic in coco. I use dry amendments as well and have had many successful grows. I water every other day generally with plants that size. I do not water to run off as I want to keep my amendments. Growing organically the medium needs to keep somewhat moist for microbe life. And even more so in coco because dry coco kinda expands and can damage roots, it dried completely. If you just top dressed give it a few weeks for the microbes to do their job.
If you are super concerned I would water slowly tell run off and get some numbers. Test ur runoff Ppm and ph.
I keep my ph about 6.0.
If you have messed up ph, epsona makes ph up and ph down. Called soil acidifier (ph down)and lime ( ph up)
Both organic and will fix you right up. If you are under 1000 pmm they maybe hungry. Make a tea from worm castings, or from ur organic amendments that will feed much faster. Ask away I am here to help.

Problems I see, letting coco get too dry, not feeding enough, and ph not on track for coco (5.8-6.0).
