I have a 400 watt mh grow light. I’m using organic garden soil. I’m using fox farm fertilizer the three bottle set. My lights are Abt 1 foot and a half away from the plants. The leaves are starting to taco upwards. The plants are beautiful and green no discoloring or anything what could I be doin wrong?
Your light is too close i would think. Heat stress
How far away should the light be?
I have two 315w CMHs and I keep mine anywhere from 15 to 24 in. I put the back of my hand facing up towards the light over the top of the canopy that is closest to the light bulbs and I hold it there until I count to 30. If it’s too warm on the back of my hand then I heard it’s too warm for the plants. Raise up the light until it does not get warm. I hope this helps. Enjoy your grow and good luck.
One more thought, make sure you have a fan blowing between the lights and the top of your canopy. It helps move the air around. Have a good morning
I would put it 24" for.now till tacoing goes then lower abit more. I cant use the back of hand trick because my hands dnt have much feeling left in them
Agree with @neckNflu about fan also
@Liljoe makes a very good point. If you aren’t sure raise them up a little higher than you think. You can always lower it down if you need it to.
They have got you on point heat & fan agree a cheap temp gage too
Thank you for the nice words @hogmaster . Hope you have a nice morning.
Hogmaster brought up a good point regarding a temperature gauge. I have a little temperature and humidity gauge that I hang from a small chain from my ceiling which I can raise and lower. It hangs down over my canopy. I use it to keep an eye on what’s going on in my storage /grow room. Good luck and have a nice morning everyone.

Your help is appreciated
Thank you
We can give you better advice IF YOU post pics taken in white light.
Move lights ASAP…if you don’t have an exhaust fan…get one. 6’ fan, 12’ of duct and a speed control was $40 on Amazon.
BTW…a PH n PPM Meter set is CRITICAL to a good grow and subsequent good harvest.
Thanks I moved the lights up and the plants are already doing better.
Well now how can anybody say truly what’s going on with out a picture.
Upload a pic and then we mite be able to help other wise it’s just a guessing game
There doin a lot better after I raised the lights thanks for all your help. Y’all have been on point with all my problems and I truly am thankful
Too funny. That’s the exact one I have hanging from my little chain in my room.
