Some of these girls are a pain to trim especially the bushiest ones. I like to take the biggest leaves first concentrating on any that are stacked on one another. If you see some you are not to sure about leave em because you can always go back later and cut it off. You can never put em back
I just trimmed up all the girls in my room and posted the before n after pictures if you want to see how mine turned out before you get started. They’re spread out over last week because I didn’t get em all in one day
I will definitely go take a look . Thank you
I’m going to give it a go. I looked at yours and I hope I can duplicate it. That stubby plant is so dense I can’t even imagine where to begin. I know it needs a good defoliation. I will start small and let you see what I have done.
As you can see lookin at mine there’s no right or wrong. Some are stripped down pretty good and others are just thinned out. I just try to leave enough down low for the plant to munch on if the roots can’t feed it fast enough. Without blocking light from the buds
Ok y trimmed on her a little. She hasn’t shown any white hairs yet so I’m assuming she will still do some stretching. Here are the before and after pictures.

morning Flit… did a good job…
Good morning thank you
keep taking from the bottom and the insides on your Photo’s to keep them open to air and light…
Looks great I couldn’t have done it better. Before flower you don’t want to remove to much but you want good airflow. This keeps the plant from stretching all crazy. Plants will stretch to reach out for more airflow because they are pollinated through the air
I have a lot of work to do on that gold leaf that I trimmed on last night.
I have a question that I am sure has been asked a million times. When do you declare a plant is in flower? I wait until I see the appearance of what I call hedgehog.
how I say flower has started is when I see the tops of the bud site have some white hairs…or porcupines as some call it.
That’s what I thought. That gold leaf that is so bushy hasn’t even hardly shown any white hairs yet. She is only 2 days behind the other gold leaf from sprout. . She wants to be late to the party so everyone will notice her
my photo’s usually take 1.5 weeks to 2 weeks after flip before I see the hairs…
This is so funny I’ve been calling them HEDGEHOGS since I was a kid
I normally start counting weeks of flower about 10 or so days from the light switch to 12s. That is when I start seeing baby hedgehogs but I have seen a few plants take a couple days longer and of course a couple start in just three or four days. Ten days seems to be my go to for an average when I have twenty plants going
I have given everyone a bit of a haircut. The bushy one is still quite bushy but I am working on her. Here are a couple pictures from the weekend. I hope everyone is having a great day
I forgot to mention. I can’t say enough about ILGM’s Bruce Banner photo. That has been the best elevator I have had in a long time. If you want a potent smooth smoke that’s the one. It has been curing since the end of last December. JS
Good morning grow fam. I was in my garden this morning playing some tunes while I cared for my babies. I had to raise my light again. That Gold Leaf is reaching for the sky. The other Gold leaf that is two days younger is way squatter. I had to raise its booster chair. Not only is it squatter it is not showing any pistols and it has been 2 full weeks since I flipped the light. Here are some pictures of my soon to be buds. Have a nice day

And the high chair
For your enjoyment
Happy Thursday morning grow family. I just tip toed through my garden. My squatty Gold leaf after more than two weeks from light flip is finally showing pistils. It tiny but it’s there. And my critical is stacking up. The big GL is still stretching, I don’t have enough high chairs to go around.
Squatty GL pistils.
