Best light for the money I have nothing but good stuff to say about this light

Like @Hogmaster pointed out: this is about the best value for a good lighting source. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near that King LED fixture. If heat isn’t a big issue you should look into MH/HPS or CMH or LEC technologies.

If you insist on the China lights I would most strongly recommend you buy multiple smaller lights to increase the footprint. One light in a 4 X 4 would have to be very high (3 feet?) to give you canopy coverage which dissipates the light further and makes it even harder to get to your flowering light levels needed. You would be able to flower one plant in the middle of your space.

A lot of folks have had good luck with the Viparspectra 600’s. 3 of those would do just great in your space and likely be a bit less total $$.

It is not so much discouraging as overwhelming. We are simply trying to provide you with the most effective and currently economical choices out there. Please, ask questions and tag people. Look at grows that folks have done. Here’s a couple of good ones:

She’s running MH/HPS for her situation

He uses QB’s and Viparspectra and kills with both.

Here’s the lighting thread. You can skim through it as it’s a huge thread (VERY popular)

Here’s my thread but I put plants outside when it’s sunny so results are skewed.

After watching tons of videos and reviews I’ve decided to go Air-Cooled Reflector hps/mh 600 watt system

Is there 1 brand of set up that everyone prefers over another?

That’s a good solid choice. If heat isn’t a big issue (or at least manageable) then this is a great choice. LED’s are sexy and they (at the high end) outperform everything else but the cost is still high.

Is a 1000 watt hps with a 6 inch fan too big for a 4x4 tent?

Do you prefer the 2 260W XL QB V2 R spec kit over the 1 600W QB288 V2 R spec kit? for a 4x4 or 5x5 tent?

It’s always better to have 2 smaller lights instead of one.
Better spread of light and you can have them at different distances for when you have different size plants.
And if one fails, the other is still there.

I like using multiples for (1) redundancy (2) height and width adjustment (3) spectrum targeting

All good answers. More fixtures means fewer hot spots and less bleaching or burning. 1,000 watts is a lot but that space could handle it. Assuming good heat rejection.

I have a king 2000w led I’ll sell for $125, buyer pays for shipping.
