It use to take no longer than 3 or 4 days for sprouts to pop up, out of the solo cups, now 5 seeds are dead two more are in the solo cups and now on day 4, plastic sandwich bag over them , light 450 watt on 40% 34 inch high temp in tent 75- 80 F, air flow good and moving, seeds ordered in 2022, however , they were vacume sealed and in dark cool place for storage,
Don’t water at all if using a dome. Begin watering when the seedling outgrows the dome. Seedlings don’t like wet soil. Using both a dome and watering is too much. Overly wet soil is the leading cause of seedling loss.
This is day 5, days 1 - 4 have been seeds 1/2 in, below soil and sprayed lightly twice a day moring and night, that use to work pretty good, and using light manufacture guide lines for hight and % of power, today first day of sandwich bag dome, crossing my fingers,
Hi, one of the seeds poped out this morning, yeah,
Should I take the bagie off the cup now, ???
Also is it a good idea to keep the soil in the cup moist by putting water in the bottom tray that the cups sit in ???
The dome isn’t placed over a cup to help germination. It is there to provide humidity for the seedling so that you don’t have to water the soil at all until the dome is removed. Remove the dome when the seedling outgrows it. Don’t water the soil at all if using a dome until the dome is removed. The seedling can get all of the water it needs via the humidity in the dome.
Bottom feeding will cause problems. Seedlings don’t tolerate wet soil and cannabis does far better in dry soil than wet soil. Overwatering will cause significant problems. The plant’s roots need wet/dry cycles for good root health. Always let the soil dry out between waterings and never give more water than the plant is capable of drying out the soil in the pot within 2 to 4 days.
It’s not something that can be prescribed. Plants are going to have varying thirsts depending on your specific environment (humidity, temp, and so on.)
Again: Always let the soil dry out between waterings and never give more water than the plant is capable of drying out the soil in the pot within 2 to 4 days.
Mature plants should be watered to runoff. I grow in 10 gal pots and it usually takes 2+ gallons to get to runoff with mature plants. The pots dry out in 2 to 3 days. Young plants should get very little water. Start with an ounce or 2 once the dome is removed and increase watering quantity as needed as the plant gets larger. How much you increase watering each time depends on your specific environment, but again: never give more water than the plant is capable of drying out the soil in the pot within 2 to 4 days.
