I don’t think any of the phone apps are super accurate. There is a thread here that talks about just that. Someone did side by sides with an expensive light meter and wasn’t super accurate. I use it to get an ā€œideaā€ what’s happening…if I wanted super accurate I’d get what hellraiser has…and that’s not in the budget right now.

I think this is it

The lighting apps are just as accurate as a dedicated lux meter you can buy in Amazon unless I’m mistaken.
Again no lux meter will read par and what Hellraiser has is the gold standard but also out of the budget for most

Yes but lux is not a very good measure for one reason and @Hellraiser is using an Apogee Quantum Sensor. No comparison and he’s measuring PPF.

So take your readings using a phone app with a grain of salt. It will tell you more and less and may help to even coverage under the canopy but from there it’s really up to you and the plants to decide on light levels.

so I donwloaded the app where should i place the camera?

over the canopy or where the lights are?

Topped all of them except for the SS still too small. I took off some of the fan leaves off to allow light to leaves that were blocked by them

Canopy level, do a circle around the canopy of each plant and check your average
