Johnny 6 goes organic

..well mostly organic anyway. Long time lurker, first time poster. This plant is ~4weeks since flip, growing in a 10 gallon bag with ocean forest amended with gardentone.

300W light ~9inches above the canopy.

Top dressed with more garden tone a couple weeks ago. She has some yellowing/spotting on the lower leaves but I think thats from under watering.

Nice looking grow. Congrats on your first post.

The yellowing at the bottom is normal. The plant will eventually shed the lower leaves.

Plant looks fantastic. Welcome to the forum.

thanks, but the camera angle is doing a lot of the work there. This is a pretty small plant.

I can tell the bud size, the photos are clear.

She is screaming - I’m happy!

It is easy to see, she has such a beautiful structure, I am sure she will make ya proud.

Hell; She is making me proud and all i am doing is window shopping.

One fine chic right there.

Just watered today, gave a tiny amount of bloom booster, But it looks like shes a little stressed out. I did accidentally let it get down to 61f overnight Thurs into Fri. Overnight temp is typically ~65f. Daytime temps are ~83-85F but the sensor is in the light so its likely closer to 78-82f. Average temp 73.4f. Humidity high overnight 45-48% Daytime 29-39% Average ~40%.

So what do we think here. Temperature, light or nutrient issue? Or normal color? This looks like stress to me. Any and all opinions welcome.

This was terrible advice. Plants should not be shedding leaves in week 4 of flower.(1 or 2 sure, but not like this) I delayed treatment and the yellowing has spread to all of the fan leaves and is working its way up the plant to the leaves on the buds. I was right, there was a nitrogen deficiency. If I hadnt listened to this advice I would have treated it earlier and my plant would be in better condition.

I guess any and all advice is not welcome.

I’ve been doing this for a long time and I stand behind what I said.

Which garden tone are you using for veg and for flowering stages im curious cause trying to other organic fertilizer

Found my login info so I’ll do an update here and respond to those that left comments.

She is nearing the end, I had to supplement with 20-20-20 to stop the rapid degradation of the plant after my last post. I managed to only lose 1 or 2 other leaves besides the two that were yellowing in the pic I posted here. However, a lot of the other leaves had started to be cannibalized before I was able to add fertilizer(I didnt want to water again so soon and risk root rot). Unfortunately I was so annoyed with myself for not feeding when I thought I should have that I didnt take any pictures at this stage.

I kept feeding roughly every other watering with either 20-20-20. 20-10-20, and/or 9-58-8 depending on what I had available and what the vibes were. My ph pen is dead, but my water is super hard, and the pot is big so I figured as long as I kept the feed light I shouldnt run into ph issues.

Anyway, heres what she looks like today

@Learningkanaka I used garden tone.

@MidwestGuy I understand, but there is information I should have given that may have changed your response. Those werent the first leaves to be lost, they were the second set of 2 that started rapidly yellowing. If I didnt supplement with more fertilizer I dont think there would be any leaves left right now, given how fast the plant deteriorated over the next couple days while I was waiting for the pot to dry out to be able to feed.

Here are the pics. For some reason i had to convert them to .png to get them to display correctly.

Beautiful flower! You did good.

Well that depends, if you were growing outdoor, week 4 of flower would most definately have yellowing lower leaves. Indoors in living soil… maybe? Not sure yet… tell ya later. Since you fixed the issue with N Im assuming you are using bottled nutes in a soiless medium ( hydro ) ? I wouldn’t be so hard on the commenter, often times deficiencies are simy caused by poor watering practices.

Thank you. I cut her down today. I would actually like to let her ride another week, but its lost so many leaves and is looking pretty rough. If I didnt hesitate to feed ~halfway through flower and I fed heavier when I did start feeding I think I could stretch this out another week or so to ripen. (Its been ~12 weeks since flip already, so ~9-10weeks of flower.) But I didnt want to overfeed since I wasnt measuring or PHing anything.

Not a ton of amber trichs but I already stole a tester a week ago so I know its more potent than anything Ive grown or bought legally so far. Ive got 9 soda can sized colas so Im hoping for a couple ounces off this plant. I’ll get some photos of the buds once they are dry/trimmed. For now Im hanging to whole plant to dry. Humidity control is a pain here so I dont trim before I dry. (wish I had more fan leaves for the dry tbh)

I was using soil. It was fox farms ocean forest with garden tone organic herb and vegetable fertilizer(I am going to use this again, I am very happy with the results, though I have to adjust the feeding schedule a bit for flower.)

After the plant started to decline I fed a mix of powdered 20-20-20, 20-10-20, and 9-58-8 depending on the vibes I felt that day/what the plant looked like it needed. The amounts used were also vibes based.

I originally thought it was a watering issue but once I watered without feed the plant rapidly started losing fan leaves, it wasnt arrested until I could feed synthetics once the soil had dried out.(didnt want to risk root rot by watering 2 days in a row) It was a dramatic and rapid decline on all sides of the plant starting from the bottom.

That being said losing a leaf or 2 isnt unusual indoors in my experience, but I should have picked up what was actually happening earlier. The plant started eating fan leaves two at a time, first the right side of the plant, then the left, Then all of them at once starting at the bottom. It wasnt entirely the fault of the commenter, I left information out and I should have went with my gut and fed the plant when I noticed the leaves dropping. But I thought it was an under watering issue since the plant started drinking a lot more around week 3-4 after flip and I hadnt been watering as often as I thought maybe I should have…which was the main reason for my hesitance to feed more.
