Jeremyg’s Grow Journal

I have not switched to flowering yet! I think shes starting to want water more often now because of how much new growth there has been like @Dinky said! The lower set of fan leaves definitely have some damage, but that was due to other problems much earlier in my unfortunate process. Im still trying to do my best though on this first grow with help from my other growmies!

Start with shaving half a day, trying to catch her just before the droop

@Dinky
I hope all has been well with your grow! I will be doing my watering tomorrow morning then to try to shave off about half a day!

I started to have the cold sweep come through while we go into these winter months, and with the recent major drop in temperature (mid 70F down to 40F or around 20C down to 4C) I have noticed a drop in temperature in the tent especially when the light is off. I used to sit around 80F-84F or 26C to 28C when the light was on which has now reduced to 78F or 26C. When the light was off before I would drop down to around 26C now I get down to 22C, sometimes it’ll go lower into the 20C range depending on how the heat is set in the house. I was wondering if that would be too cool or not for this current grow and also if I were to start another grow as well. If it is too cold, especially since it will get colder in the coming months, should I invest in the AC Infinity heater? I found one on amazon for $99,
Amazon.com: AC Infinity THERMOFORGE T3, Environmental Grow Tent Heater with VPD Temperature Controller, 10-Level PTC Heating with Included Extension Hose for Grow Tents, Grow Rooms, Greenhouses

Also this is how she has been looking today! I can tell she is about ready for her feed!

I did notice that some of growth near the top sets have slightly burnt tips, should I be very worried about this? or is it too hard to tell until I get my feed ppms tomorrow?

Personally my experience with night time temps the lowest I’ve seen is 15C. A 20C night time tempnwould actually be well above average for me, so I’m gonna say for now you should be ok. But something to consider in the future.

As far as buying equipment specific to heating im afraid I cant comment, I rely either on radiators or I just don’t bother doing anything. :man_shrugging:

If you can tell she’s ready to drink then you’re probably right and fire away :ok_hand:

The yellow tips on the new growth is actually usually a good thing, it tends to mean we’re pushing the plant juuust to her peak nutrient uptake. However, with your plant having its past issues it’s hard to tell. I wouldn’t worry about it at all right now, just monitor it. If the yellow travels further down the leaf that’s our indicator to drop the PPMs slightly, all good :metal:

Keep spreading all those new branches, try and get them out passed the big fan leaves so their tops recieve direct light, if you need to you can tuck some of the big leaves in

@Dinky

I noticed this about halfway through watering on my leaves, i havent seen this before!

also how would i go about tucking those fan leaves in?

Also I just finished my watering here are my results!!

This is also how shes looking after the feed!

Ill make sure to monitor those leaves! I also will hold off for now unless I see a dramatic drop in temperatures for a heater!

@Dinky

I hope all has been well! I did try my best to move some of those fan leaves out of the way for the other bud sites! Recently, she has been growing like crazy!! Overnight there was a major difference in those bud sites once I opened them up! Its truly incredible to see how much she can do in such a short time!!!

I am slightly worried at the fact that shes almost touching the light and I can go up much more, any recommendations?

Sorry I didnt reply last time thought I was all caught up.

Looking great! Yup once they get the sight of light they’ll do maneuver themselves into as optimal position as they can reach.

Yes your height is a bit of a problem

Send a few pics of this area close-ish, just a little hard to zoom in before it goes blurry. We’ll have to decide where to top

Stem shots, trying to see your nodes

@Dinky

As soon as I get home I will take some more pictures! I may be able to move everything up a small amount but not too much.

@Dinky

Alright, I got some more pictures of the top area!

Also heres some closer shots!

You could cut here and have a great clone to work with from what’s removed.

You could also super crop which would mean you won’t lose any plant material but the recovery will take much longer.

@Dinky

Which one would you recommend? I apologize but I dont really know much of anything about either.

Also should I be worried about any of the larger leaves? I noticed some others had some slightly burnt tips and some others were barely but slightly more yellow than they were on wednesday when i fed last

Im gonna tag @OGIncognito because he will tell you what you can expect from the clone if you top, and you can decide if its worth it.

And ill tag @StonedCold13 because he’s the most recent I can think to show me a super crop.

While I have no experience with supercropping, judging from the height we’re gonna be working with during flowering, Im leaning a bit more towards that.

They’ll chime in and you can decide and then we’ll proceed :ok_hand:

Dont worry about those leaves, they are affected even if not looking like it. But go ahead and cut any of the big fan leaves that are basically yellow now with no green left. Right at the stem don’t leave too big of a stub. From the pictures it looks like the two bottom rows of yellow can go at least.

Appreciate the tag Grow Bro, @jeremyg looks like you’ve got some nitrogen toxicity, the extra N absorption could be locking out some secondary nutrient uptake like magnesium. What was the last run off PH and PPMs and is the medium soil? Supercropping is pretty easy, how rigid is that main stalk approximately a smidge higher than 1/2 the height? You can bend and tie the plant off or super crop. You take the the branch and massage and mash and roll the branch between your fingers, when it starts giving you bend it over, massaging is critical to prevent the branch from snapping :love_you_gesture:

:metal:

He’s likely gone for a little while. But I’ve been with him for a good bit so I’ll fill you in on whats happened and where he’s going, I’m absolutely sure he wont mind me speaking on behalf and will be happy to come back to a slew of info.

Last ppm was 1520
Ph 6.34

Its currently recovering from massive toxicity, (soil had nutes for 4 weeks but fed it a good dose way too early), ppms sat at 4k+ for a good while. Gave it a good flush down and he’s maintaining feeds at 800ppm until it gets to a decent number.

It’s just gotten back to spitting out new growth :metal:

Next steps is to get those numbers together then top or SC (likely SC) and let her recover and straight into flower.

The operating table is open to suggestions if anything seems off

Appreciate the back scoop and nice work getting him back on track Brother….would have been my advice as well :muscle::muscle::love_you_gesture:

Glad he chimmed in :wink::point_up:t2::point_up:t2:
I was going to suggest if it’s a Photo to cut it in half and veg out to flower :grin:

And nice work @Dinky getting him turned around :muscle:t2::green_heart::metal:t2:

Thanks dudes he’s a good grower just made a simple but costly mistake as we all have.

So Juicy J you have 3 votes for a supercrop and good details on how to do it. That’s also gonna give you a ton of fun to watch all the new tops rise.

I reckon if we drop your next feed down to 700 just to speed things up with dropping the ppms. We get that read, and if things look good we’ll go ahead with a SC?
