Jekyll the new grower

Five weeks in just wandering how they are looking and what is the brown edges would mean

Welcome to the neighbourhood @Jeffk
If you can get pics in natural light , would help.
They appear healthy.
The brown edges are likely nothing to be concerned about if only the one leaf.
Either chafing from a fan blowing or water / nute splash from what I can tell in the pics.
By the end of the grow there’ll be plenty other marks too.

That’s perfect. Thank you.
If those edges were wet under your light it would cause lensing. Basically it cooks the leaf in that spot.
Otherwise they look good.

Good color, nice and healthy. I would recommend more light as your node spacing is fairly sparse.

Thanks for the info. I had been spraying them at nite before I turned the light off. I just got a new 2foot grow light 2 days ago. It is over them should I get more for the lower parts ?

What kind of grow light?

Hate to tell ya Growmie but that light is Grossly under powered. I would recommend a minimum of 40 watts per sqft of grow space. If that’s a single plant in the open I would place at least a 200 watt quality light fixture over her head. I have several cheap lights collecting dust and wish I would have spent the money up front. AC infinity, HLG or Spider Farmer would be my suggestion, all 3 are running updated Samsung diodes :love_you_gesture:

I 2nd @OGIncognito. Lights were my first and extremely valuable lesson. When choosing a light look for the actual output wattage not just what they advertise. My first light was advertised at 500w when its actual output was 50. My plants were lanky and node spacing was high. Quality lighting will immediately up your grow game 200%.

Welcome @Jeffk Lots of excellent advice on this forum. Ask questions. read a lot and you will excel. your plant looks healthy light will get you through the first run but it is underpowered

I did the same thing. The good news Is I use the burple light for my wife’s Orchids. Then I went with 2 Spider Farmer 1000 and linked them together. They did well and 200 watts would be good for a 2x2.

I have a 3x3 so I got the HLG 300RSpec and grew a couple of excellent plants. But I, as with most here, have a plant addiction. I just can’t stop growing them! Last black Friday I picked up the HLG Blackbird. Fits perfectly in the 3x3.

What to do with the 300RSpec? I replaced the 3x3 with the 4x3 AC Infinity with the 3x3 & 1x3 separated. The 300Rspec fits perfectly on that side. I can grow 8 autos in 3 gal pots or ONE BIG PHOTO and 3 autos. My wife wonders what I’m going to do with almost 2lb of weed. Good thing I golf and have a stoner in the house.

Bottom Line, Light is King!
