After mixing everything ( Jack’s, silica, epsom, terp tea) my numbers are 6.5 ph, 1.5 tds, 2.16mS ec. I don’t understand them but they seem off from what I’ve read. My runoff is 4.85 ph, 6.68 tds, 9.44mS ec.

Post a pic of your TDS pen. Should give you a PPM reading, the 1.5 TDS you mentioned is most likely 1500 PPMs, what is your water source numbers. The EC # is confusing :love_you_gesture:

@Fishyswaw, Here is the Jacks 321 schedule, note the target EC and PPM levels.

Here is some explanation of EC and PPM.
Different PPM meters will use one of the three PPM scales to convert the EC reading to a PPM level.

My pen is a Apera ec60 I believe. It did show the scale on the medium setting.?? The 6.68 on runoff did have it as ppt, not ppm. I didn’t take a picture of the readings. I can tomorrow.

easier than soil!

@Jungle , are you referring to DWC?

@Ickey , Thanks

You are very welcome, I hope it helps.
You may need to add the EC or PPM value of your tap water to the final reading. I prefer to just use EC in order to keep things simple.

I am RDWC, but yes.

TDS function is the PPM reading Your at 1.5 tds that would be 1500ppm. back out your tap water (250) leaves you 1250ppm The easiest way I found when mixing test the water add silica test the water add jacks test the water then after you add the terp tea retest the water again. Subtract the tap water numbers to get the actual nutrient solution. I see tds/ec working out to be in the same range after converting ec numbers.
I would recommend calibrating your pen Apera has simple directions and should have come with the calibration solutions.

Okay I finally broke down and got some Jacks 321…I bought it off a seller on eBay who breaks it down
into smaller sacks and resells it…a good alternative …Cheaper for one… But hope I’m really getting genuine Jacks…not knowing what it looks like I was hoping the ILGM family could tell me if it looks like the real stuff from these pics…?

I had the exact issues with FF nutes… I switched to Roots Organics Original soil a while back… Wish I would have switched to Jack’s then as well.
