Ok. So is this what we call Peat from the CoCo? If so, any thoughts on how I can do a better job of getting it separated out from the actual CoCo?
I have no idea what that is. But to make cleaning coco easier let it dry out thoroughly.
Well it sure looks like poop. Lol! But yeah, it was in the bottom of the pot I was rewetting it in. I will not be putting it into the top dressing. But I did save it and when it dries I will know, I think. I believe it will be a sort of powdery substance.
That looks like coco peat It will collect at the bottom if you don’t wash enough out. It’s not the end of the world. It just holds more water. I use a piece of 1/4" hardware cloth stretched tight. Throw some coco on the screen and push it around with the water hose till it reaches the desired texture. Then it goes into the buffering solution. I repeat that till I have enough coir.
That’s what I thought it was. Heck, I soak, drain through a pool skimmer and squeeze, hard. Then I do two 8hr, at least, bufferings, repeating the above. You’d think that’d be good. I guess it isn’t. Smh. I’ll need to try harder. Thanks again Sensai.
