Oh word cheers @peachfuzz and @ktreez420 . My only concern and maybe this isn’t a concern, is that the root was resting under the cube against the bottom of the container it was in. Will the root grow down or do I need to do something about it?
Just keep top watering the plant until the roots grow down into the water and then you’re good to go … so either once or twice a day you want to water on top and that will cause the roots to go down into the water… 
Is the colorization of the new set of leaves coming out normal? @peachfuzz It seems to be speeding up in growth.
Yes what I can see looks like normal growth …you must understand that they will look like a lime light green at the very tips of the new leaves coming because they are new growth the older leaves will look darker and of course will be bigger as the plant gets older… have you been able to pick up the lid and see if the roots have made it into the water yet?..
That’s the most important thing right now is getting those roots to your reservoir of water without bringing the water level up and drowning the plant…
Also if all’s your using is hydrotone and rockwool… pretty soon you’ll want to start to use nutrients … not just yet… but pretty soon… just keep me posted and I will help you make sure that your plant has everything that it needs to do what it needs to do… and by the way it is looking good…
Yeah I forgot to mention pretty soon it’s going to be growing like crazy LOL… it’s a good problem to have…
I just checked for the root coming out the bottom, it is and it is about 2 inches maybe 2 1/2 inches long. I just noticed that the water is barely touching the bottom of the net bottom, should I lower the water level a bit? I’m also assuming I should stop top feeding it with water right?
You want about an inch of space between the bottom of the basket and the waterline and as soon as the roots hit the water then you can stop top feeding… just make sure the roots are long enough that they’re touching the water and it won’t hurt it to top feed a couple more times just to make sure before you let her do her own thing…
@peachfuzz Cheers for the help, at what point do I start giving it nutrients? and also what is a good amount? The nutrients are Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow A and B, They don’t really say how much to put in and i believe it differentiates from the size of the plant

first off those girls are a little small to feed . next what kind of water are you using?

@Hammer Yeah they are the PH Perfect line, the water is just normal tap water with PH around 6ish
@BrotherManBill, do you have ppm meter, &ph, pen, ? What is the ppm of your tap water, ph
perfect formula’s are recommended. Use in RO water. see that salt build up on the hydroton?
that shows me you have high ppm in your water. can you get a small RO system.??

@Hammer It’s a pretty ghetto low budget operation due to financial restrictions unfortunately. I can’t afford a RO system. Is there a way to lower the PPM and when/how should I use the nutrients? Thanks for the help I greatly appreciate it.
@BrotherManBill You can also use distilled water if RO is not available I go to the grocery store and pay $.39 a gallon jug when you start your nutrients do you want to start them at a quarter power so if it says for Mills give it one mill if it does good the first week second week move it up to two mil and so on you just want to make sure you don’t stress your girls out
If you can’t get a hold of someone to help you you can always hit me up I checked quite often and if you’ve been here for any amount of time you know anyone will help you with anything

The distilled water I buy out of the jug it is 6.8-7.2 normally straight out of the bottle you will still want to check your pH for sure but I have also done it without checking pH I do not recommend it but if you can’t afford a pH meter the distilled water are used I could grow from start to finish without checking but I highly do not recommend that
@Hogmaster I went out and got some distilled water, ph is around 6.2, is it safe to use 1/4 the nutrients on it now at it’s current size or should I wait a bit.
You’ll grow some great plants with those nutrients! If you need more directions you can go to their website and get a feeding chart made specifically for each growing medium.
@ktreez420 , what size should the plant be to start giving it nutrients? I know @Hogmaster said to give it 1/4 the nutrients to begin with but i’m not sure if it’s big enough to start.
You don’t want to give it nutrients until it has four true sets of leaves as long as you have worst true sets possibly five true said you should be perfectly fine using nutrients but like I said use a quarter power
