Is this gonna work? I'm making do with what I have

I have VERY limited space.. I have two 3’×3’×5’ tents crammed into the shed out the back.. there is less than a foot between them, about a foot in front of them, and essentially zero room to the sides, back and above them after I did my best to insulate the walls with blankets and cardboard boxes. I did manage to get some actual insulation for the roof.
I had a little DWC system and an Auto in one tent, and an RDWC system in the other.
Since all 3 in the RDWC system hermied :sob: I have moved the DWC system to take their place, which did free up a little breathing room.
Problem is, the only vents that can open to more than an inch outside the tents are facing each other.. I have joined the two with a plumbing T piece, which connects to a 6’ inline fan via a foot of ducting, then a “silencer” (doesn’t seem to make a difference) and then the carbon filter resting on the ground. The filter is actually wider than the gap so pushes in on the tent walls.
Here’s a quick diagram..

I do actually have a little 4’ inline, and a 4’ filter.. but nowhere to really vent it.. would I be better off just running the 6’ out from one tent and setting up the 4’ inside the other?

Also, any tips on keeping the noise down? I currently have a towel wrapped around the silencer (not shown) but it doesn’t seem to help.

@Growdoc who can we tag to help this grower out??

You really need a fan to vent air out of each. I recommend a 6 inch fan and filter for 4x4 tent. A 4 inch just doesn’t move enough air. You also need vented air intake near bottom of each, the fan should exhaust air from the top of tent to help run cooler. Even better if you could pipe exhaust outside of room tents are in.

They’re 3 x 3 tents, can have the topvent thing open, but theres like an inch before the shed roof insulation. The ones on the sides are open but pretty much go straight to wall, enough to slip power cables out.. vents down the the bottom are open on the right tent with the Auto, but cant risk light leak on the left with the photos going into flower.

The shed has a slidingdoor that i cant really seal properly, so there is a constant cool draft coming inside through the gaps..

I think when the Photos light comes back on tonight, I’ll get rid of that T piece and just have the 6’ sucking from their tent, and set up the 4’ inline and filter in the top of the Auto tent, pushing air out the top vent.. that space is free, shes not getting any taller, shes even sitting up on a bucket to make her easier to work on. I can barely turn around in the shed its so cramped.

I just would really rather not add more noise, its sus enough as it is. My only saving grace is next doors pool pump is on the other side of the fence behind the shed, so Im hiping people think thats what the noise is :crossed_fingers:

Glad you can cover noise, smell is what gives most away! Noise can be blamed on other things, smells are harder to cover.

Kind of.. theres really no reason for our shed to be making any noise, let alone 24/7.. the neighbours pool pump doesnt even run 24/7. I swear this “silencer” doesnt do anything :face_exhaling:
Plus its all tin, and sliding the door open and shut is super loud, especially late at night when I try to do most of my work on the plants. It doesnt help that the block over the back fence is elevated and their veranda overlooks our backyard
I also have to run extension cords out my bedroom window and from around the side of the house.. everytime real estate sends someone round to do maintenance or whatever, I have to shut everything down and pull the cords back inside for the massive window of time they give you

Oh well. Next house will be better. My mate is cool as fuck, gonna have a room in the house to grow in. I can use my two old 4x4 tents, now i have two 3x3s and like 4 or 5 little propagation tents. Plus two, 4 bucket RDWC systems and a bunch of other gear :call_me_hand:

If I may interject, your in a shed it’s insulated why use the tents in the shed? Just cut a small passive hole 4inch place the 4inch inline fan on the opening push air in from the bottom of the shed, an make a 6 inch hole at top of shed for exhausting, put vent to hole an connect 6inch filter an fan to remove .. hang lights from rafters and boom your grow room is as big as your shed only 1 environment to control instead of 3.

It’s at a rental that I will be moving out from in November. And by “insulated” I mean I found a few offcut panels of insulation on marketplace to mostly cover the roof. And the walls have a layer of old blanket and a layer of flattened cardboard box. The sliding door is just thin tin and when shut has at least half inch gaps either side.
I was originally going to grow in the spare room inside the house, but the guy I’m renting with cracked it over some unrelated bullshit. When he finally came around to the idea, he said only in the shed. I had to improvise and have the grow started in like 2 days, and its still going to be cutting it pretty damn close to get a crop harvested and packed up like it was never there before I move house.

Im doing the best I can with what I have.

I’m sorry if I came across as judgemental I absolutely am not I completely understand doing the best with what we got. I was just trying to be helpful

All good, I’m sorry too. Ive just been up for a few days and am a bit irritable. I’ve got a lot of fucked up shit going on in my life right now and the stress is overwhelming. Then I end up sitting awake all night in the shed with my girls. Still stressing over them, but somehow calm.

I fully understand. Maybe that T pipe your showed maybe if you were able to hook something like that up to the top ports of both tents as well as to the bottom use the 6 inch fan to push air in the tents and the 4 inch as exhaust with filter.
