Is this curling normal for a seedling?

She’s around 8 days old now and I’ve noticed some small curling around the sides of the leaves. Is this normal? And could someone help me with a feeding / watering list? I’m not sure how much to feed or water her, I’ve been trying with lists online but I’m afraid I’m overwatering.

I can’t tell in a big pot like that. I start in solo cups so it’s easy to see. Since it’s so small make you could use a clear solo cup or cut a plastic water/soda bottle to make her a humidity dome. Then you just spray the inside of the dome and put it over her, and you can water around the dome when the soil gets dry instead of watering at the seedling. Makes reach out her roots to the water :green_heart:
What soil are you using?

Hi sorry, I tried writing an edit down in my post but it wouldn’t allow me.

P.S. This is my first grow! I’m only doing one at the moment and I’ve been worrying about them a bit much. There’s a small rip in the leaf, embarrassing story… ignore that for now. I’m excited to be joining this community and I’m happy I could be here.

For background of the plant, it is an auto flower so I put it straight into its original pot (for no transplant) it’s the blueberry auto flower strain from ILGM.

For the soil I’m using it’s a mix of FoxFarm Ocean 80% and the rest coco coir

To me it doesn’t look bad. I’m far from expert though. It sounds like your temp and humidity are good.

FFOF has a lot of nutrients in it so you shouldn’t need to fertilize for a weeks at least.

Appreciate it! I have my in-line fans running on auto mode for when it gets 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and the humidity should be around 70-80% at this stage right?

Yes, right. What is your lighting? Don’t want it too bright at that young age

When I use fox farms ocean soil, should I be adding coco coir to it? I was about to add perlite, I purchased it but added a tiny bit since I noticed it already had it premixed, however I did add coco coir. The lighting is at 40%, I’m pretty sure I use a 100W AC Infinity light.

Oh, and welcome to the forum! Lots of great people here!

I think most people do add extra perlite to the FFOF. I’ve done it with and without
You mixed in coco though so I’m Guessing that might help oxygenate the soil like perlite but I don’t really know…

It sounds to me like you’re doing it right, like I said, I’m no expert though :green_heart:

I did add a bit of perlite, not too much though. It should be good. Here’s a pic of where the light is compared to plant with readings (off).

Compared to me you have a sweet setup! I think you’re doing great
You obviously did your research before diving in :+1:

Thank you so much! I appreciate that. Eases my mind for a bit. Will update later!

Awesome! I’m set to watching, you’re gonna do great!

Gonna have to disagree here. Heat is about the only thing they can get too much of from the lights. I run my lights (2 @ 150 w each) at 100% throughout the grow and just raise or lower the plants to control size/stretch.

Thank you, I didn’t realize that. OP was concerned about leaf curling and everything else seems spot on so too much light was the only thing I could think of. But looking at their setup it seems good to me
Appreciate your help

Hi there and welcome to your new happy place
Your plant looks good. if you can get the photone app on your phone, it is a pretty good way to set your light. DLI is about 20 to 30 for veg, i think.

Why is my autoflower doing this I gave it a few drops around the stem this morning

@Sammys
Im not sure I’m a believer in not transplanting autos. I I’m in mid flower of a GG4 auto. I transplanted it and not it’s a monster!

There is some good reading on the benefits of transplanting on the coco for cannabis web site (specifically for autos).

I will always transplant my future autos and photos.

Having said that, I did do like you did and go directly to a forever pot on my first grow. It turned out excellent especially for my first grow

You will be fine. Keep learning
