Is my plant stretching or wilting and what should i do? 1st time grow

It’s stretching. Light needs to be closer or more powerful.

You could try and mound up some soil around the base of the stem for support . I also use a pipe cleaner or piece of wire to support the stem . Should be ok if you lower the light as close as possible without cooking the plant .

1/2 pipe cleaner looped around the stem until it gets sturdy. also, plastic coated tomato wire will work.

NOW…get the light the plant deserves…OR…your efforts won’t get you much at all.

just to throw this out there for you but I have really good results with two, two foot T5 lights. They’re fairly cheap and they seem to do well. I’ve used them for a few years now. Good luck. enjoy your growing!

Difficult to tell from the photos, be careful to not over water and cause them “damp off” as this can be fatal.

I am NOT asserting that you are over watering, just a heads up. Other than the stretch, they look very healthy.

@neckNflu (is that right) in your T5,s for seedling - you use cool white bulbs? BTW new to the site & blogs or whatever, you all are incredibly welcoming! thank you

Personally, I would be leaning toward warm white. Others may have some other advice.

u can also use a 4000k 5000k or “daylight” CFL bulb. if it is a small wattage u can keep it really close to plant. for example if you got a 15watt daylight cfl u could probably keep it 3 inches or less away from your seedling
thats a cheap effective temporary solution.

but your seedling will outgrow a small light quickly

I know. I’m looking at mine right now. It survived three or four moves. Have a nice Sunday :+1:

Yes that’s a very good point. I do take mine out of the light as soon as I can turn my room around. I try and get my timing" right. since I only have one room to grow and flower in. I have my seedlings and clones under my T5 light that’s outside of my grow room. They’re not a permanent thing. Good for clones and seeds. Fyi- My main room has 2- 315W CMHs. have a nice morning everyone

The T5 that I have right now are high output 6400k, 24 Watt
Full disclosure the only reason why I use that kind of bulb is because local grow shop guy told me that was cheap(er) and a good way to go. Been using them since I started growing.
