1st time grow with my seedlings need advice please!

Ive been growing for 5 days and my seedlings seem to be doing well but im starting to see the tips kinda go upward. Is this do to regular growing or is my 50 watt led grow light to close to my seedlings?

U can add abit more soil to bury ur stems abit, keep them from fallin if they stretch too much

When taking pictures use only white light. This helps us diagnosis your plants better.
Looking good.

it looks like the light is not strong enough and your seedlings are stretching. get a better light.

light is the one part of a grow to not skimp on. look at horticulture lighting group, HLG. they have some of the best lights on the market, at any price

Thank you for the feeback ill make sure next time pucs are in normal light. Do they look like their stretching at all?

Yes some of them do. Just put more soil in the ones that stretched. What kind of light are you using and what size is your grow space.

The light is a 50 watt grow light and i have around 3 to 4 feet of grow area

You need a light that will cover 50 watts per square foot. This is wattage coming out of the wall and not equivalent wattage that they advertise. So for 4 sqft you need 200 watts of light.

Most of us here have been building our own lights at about half price.

not just half the price but many times at better light spectrum and efficiency

Okay awesome thank you so much again, this may sound like a dumb question but lets say i have 2 feet of grow space avaible and two plants under it would the 50 watt be sufficient for the 2 plants and for all stages of growth?

seedlings stretching…move light closer. add more soil to cover bare spindly stem.
cut pipe cleaner in half…make a loose loop under the leaves, push rest into dirt.

in two feet of grow. like 2 square feet or 2x2
i would oonly put 1 plant ina 2x2.space. if its only 1x2 then i would certainly think twice before putting two plants there

Thank you!! This information is so helpful i really hope i can get a good harvest without spending loads of money, and i think i have the spacing down now

i had the same idea, grow on a budget. i think im about a grand in and i have pretty much what i need

at some point i need to get heater, ac, humidifier, and dehumidifer and a method to control all these… those steps will be pricey

and of course there is always a larger tent and more lights as well as seeds
