Your plants will definitely get bigger once you switch
Lowering the light schedule 1 hour as you mentioned would be a good thing for the plants as well
I veg my girl under a 16-8 schedule as well it’s a little closer to natural sun light patterns and works well for me

I havent grown any autos yet. Was wondering which one to try for a small tent grow next year. Or maybe to put outside for a stealth grow there. Got a fairly good spot for that, specially for an auto come spring. But being in florida, need to make sure it would grow here. Blueberry wont I guess but what would outside?
@Countryboyjvd1971 hey guy, I had mine at the 16/8 schedule before I flipped to 12/12. Was thinking i maybe should have gone to like 14/10 for a few days before going 12/12. I have my other tent vegging right now at 14/10. Origianally at 16/8 as my other. So should I expect problems having the one tent vegging at 14/10? They are almost ready to go 12/12 but am wondering. Saw another post on the forum where a guys plants started flowering after he went 14/10. Wouldnt hurt my grow if the larger ones went but I do have some clones in there I just started vegging.
@cyberblast I actually found the same issue at 14-10 schedule where the plants would flower as soon a mature enough to do so I stared using the 16-8 to prevent that
You’ll need a strain that can tolerate heat and humidity being where you are

@Countryboyjvd1971 okay, would appreciate that if you could. Dont want to wast bucks on something that wont grow well here. Come spring it gets warm and muggy…very warm…very muggy. So anything that doesnt like that type of climate. Oh, also…sandy soil…what soil there is. Anything I plant I have to put dirt in the hole for about 3 to 4 foot around for it to grow. Like fruit trees and such. For a stealth grow would plant in ground the same way. But an auto would be perfect for a spring grow here if it will handle the climate.

@Countryboyjvd1971 That helps alot. Right now went to order and discovered my better half had spent my spare bucks for the month. Oh well. I been spending the spare the last couple months on my grows so guess she figured it was here turn. Least I did get my new light. 
But gonna have to wait for the next payday to get the new seeds. Got alot of seeds. Got thos bag seeds…that I thought were bag seeds but seem to be feminized seeds. All the ones I popped have come out female. Regular seeds, the odds of that…pretty rare. Dont know what species. They dont smell much right now though I can smell skunky. Got about 50 of those suckers left. And about 12 from my order from ILGM.
Then add in whatever I buy next. have to plant em outside or I wont ever use em all. Got to order next time before my wife spends it. Hope he has some nnice sales on then. Should have his xmas sale starting. yea.
