Is it ok to use compost and compost tea on your plants

Newbie here! Just curious if it’s safe to use compost to plant my plants in and to use compost tea for watering? Thanks

I haven’t used compost tea but I use compost for all my grows. I have tried with compost and without and with is definitely better grows. The only thing I have to watch is bringing in seeds and insects with the compost but they are usually easily manageable. I bought an air pump to make compost tea but have not ever tried it yet. I will be anxious to hear other expert advice on the tea. Good luck!!

What all did you put in your compost?

I have a row of trees that I have allowed leaves to accumulate and break down over period of years. I also blow my lawn clippings into the mix. Over many years I have well over a foot of new deep black soil, full of earth worms and microbes. I use approx 1/3 compost soil; 1/3 black cow; and 1/3 potting soil. I mix in additional earth worm casings, Dr. Earths Acid Lovers fertilizer (all organic), Epsom salts, blood meal and let it all percolate for a couple of months and have had good luck with the mix. I am certain that some of the more knowledgeable growers here can provide better mixes. I’m a fairly new grower who is applying some basic gardening techniques learned throughout the years. Good luck!

Hey thanks! I’ve only recently started composting and it worked great for my vegetable garden. I’ve also heard that lake water can be good for plants?
