I’ve got white widow and It’s flowered pretty big, some leaves are very fanned out. My question is do I shorten the length of light time to start it’s bud process? Been growing since late Feb.
You would typically switch to a 12 hours on and 12 hours off to induce flowering. What light cycle are you currently on?
If you’re talking autoflower White Widow, they’ll start flowering at 4 to 5 weeks no matter what the cycle.
If you’re talking about regular White Widow, I never switch to 12/12 until the plants are about 1/3 the height to my lights. Widows I might go half the distance. You get more that way. This is a patience game. Some go 4 weeks of veg, right to flower. It’s all about what’s important to you. (I’m assuming here that by “flowered pretty big” you mean grown lots of leaves not flowers.)
If by late February you mean they’ve been vegging since Feb 26th, you could conceivably start tonight.
Also, by vegging, I don’t mean from seed, I mean from 3 nodes on each plant to however tall you want them.
Thats’s right I have lots of leaves not flowers I just don’t know if I continue the light cycle at 12 hours.
Most commonly 18 hours of light/6 hours of darkness for vegetative growth and 12 hours of light/12 hours of darkness for flowering, The 12/12 should be maintained consistently through to the end in most cases, there are exceptions where you might want to increase the dark period even more, but most of the time this shouldn’t be necessary.

Tell IronJoe that if he has regular or feminized seeds he can change his photo period to 12/12. Pretty simple
