I was hoping I might get some help/advice in growing a small amount of high-quality bud. I assume that once the plant has matured enough to start producing flower, that I would trim off all but one node. What I am not sure about is if that is true, and maybe someone here can help me.
Do I trim all but one flower node? If so, do I keep the leaves from the other branches so absorb more light? Do I want to keep the lower flower(s) so it takes less energy for the plant to push its nutrients to the flower?
I am not sure what else I am missing, but I am sure there are a lot of things that would help me produce a single, quality nug from a plant.

This is a specific training and growing technique and I would not try that as your first grow
Here is a little tip.
If you know what type of grow like hydro, coco hydro or soil use the search feature to locate a grow journal that you can follow and see the pics. Lurk around and see what people use for nutrition and training methods. Ensure there is plenty of pictures of sweet buds.
And then copy it. Do not bother trying to reinvent the wheel.
Grow a tent full of this.

Your objective confuses me a bit. Why just one cola rather than several? I remove all lower new growth, but I don’t remove the leaves.

And a good journal will explain and show how this is a constant battle until week 5 flower. You will see starts every time you water if you use soil. Clip clip pull pull.

Confused here as well. Standard method of SOG, carrot on a stick runs. That’s done with rows of clones flipped right away to keep em small high quality and dense tops only.

You made me think of this. I took a good size off the top main stem and cloned it. Only place i had for it was my single tent. My intent wasnt to clone it, but i struggled with trashing it. Anyways, tent went into flower about a week later and this is one of the pics i took of it.
