Been absent for awhile. Got some ongoing health issues that I am trying to get on top of with periodic trips to the Butcher. I am hoping I can get this Grow all the way A-Z physically tending to the plants for the next 3 Months. This is my Christmas Grow 2022. Ho Ho Ho here we Go.
Just completed the 48 hr swim and have planted 5 seeds in Happy Frog Dirt.
Seeds are ILGM Wedding Cake ~ Autos I got back in 2019.
I will be using a 3x3 Gorilla Tent, and will try 4 plants in 3 Gallon Fabric Bags, GH Trio (Old School Nutes).
Other stuff, HLG Diablo 350 lamp, 6” Infinity Fan Cloud 69 with inner control of fans by Infinity App. I have only a four grows at this point to my credit.
I have never used this HLG 350 board I have waiting in the wings. I am starting these off with the @spankyjr1 shared Germination Procedure. Hopefully my Sensei, Weed-Whisperer Spanks is still around doing his thing out to the east.
In the past getting these seeds to Pop and keeping the plants alive until they grow out a couple weeks is / was my biggest problem, and the water here. Water is HORRIBLE here. 800 PPM with 8+ PH for Straight Tap water.
I like this germination method.
Germination: 48 hr Float, pre-wet dirt 6.5 PH before placing seed in Grow Position, Tweezer seed upright, Tail down then lightly cover, cut a few slits in the Saran wrap over cup with rubber band, and watch for plant to rise above dirt line then remove saran wrap. I have the lamp dialed down to 35 watt at 24 Inches.
These weeds seem to be pretty tough once you get them a few weeks old when they are old enough to snip at the 6 or 8 cola height.
I might try 2 plants at a 6 Cola Top and 2 at 8 Cola Top? That is down the road a bit.
I have ran a new dedicated 20 AMP line from my house electric panel thru the Attic for the 350 Lamp to run on exclusively. I will have lamp plugged into a Kill-a-watt to keep accurate wattage record. Instructions on the HLG 350 said not to run on same circuit as fan, but I am sure you can. The HLG has preset Clicks to regulate the lamp light intensity, so glad I got the Kill-a-watt to make sense of it.
I know @CooterJuice has a HLG 350 Diablo board so I am going to try and get lamp heights off his tutorial later for above canopy heights, wattage ball park figures so I know how the lamp acts with the plants. I want to make sure I am not too lax on the lamp intensity, to really maximize this grow attempt.
Today I have PH the Water to 6.7 Input. RO had a Start off of 50 PPM. Had to put a pinch of Epsom Salts (For Walt Garrision) in the RO to get PPM Ions in my Reverse Osmosis water, above 100PPM where I could get a stable PH check.
I have a HLG 135 v2 board at Dialed down to 34 watt and 24 Inch Above Solo Cups. Once I snip them for a 6 or 8 Cola Grow I will move to the 3x3 tent.
I am going to use the Lucas Formula information, shared by Brother @NUG61 for my Nutrient Mix.
0/8/16 ml using GH Trio Nutrients with “The Lucas formula” with my GH Trio.
Hopefully I am not breaking the rules posting outside link.
The “0” ml simply stated I will not use the Grow (Green Color) GH Solution as this “0” Represents the Green Bottle of the 3 bottles.
The “8” ml is the Micro (Burgundy Color) Solution per Gallon of Water. (Always mix this chemical first)
The “16” ml is for the Bloom (Pink Color) Solution per Gallon if Water.
I used this Lucas Formula with FFHF Dirt as My Medium last Grow. That was my best grow as far as plant health. I took the 0/8/16 ml Lucas ratios and ran at 50% Strength 0/4/8 ml per gallon each and every watering.
Before applying solution I ensured the PH was at 6.5 to 6.8 the entire way when fluid hit the dirt. I did do a 2 round Flush of the Happy Frog Dirt at the end of the last grow to leach out the nutrients from the plant.
I am hoping for the same results I had with the Z-Kittle I grew out last time using the Lucas method. If you look at my past Grows the Speckled Fan Leaved develop at 30 days if I use RO Water along with the Green Grow solutions. When I used Lucas Formula it did not happen.
This Lucas RO water formula with Trio Nutes Seems crazy, but it worked with surprisingly good results.
I am going to stick with Lucas.
