ILGM GDP Auto Grow attempt # 1

Update- Day 18

Here is our tent, everyone seems happy.
Watered these two on Mon morning, both kinda wilted up after and I believed I had over watered so I didn’t water the other 3 till today. I don’t think now I over watered, I have read that sometimes if you go too long without watering the plant can droop some immediately following a watering. I also learned that if the water is colder then 75 degrees it can shock the plant. I believe this is the culprit, it’s chilly on the floor in the morning. Both girls bounced back and recovered within an hour and grew over night. To be cautious I watered my other plants 1/2 what I watered the other two, two days later, and warmed water in the window prior. No wilting.
This is Aurora after LST
How does she look?
This is Ophelia after LST

I think I did the LST correctly.

Finally got a humidifier, it’s been running nonstop on high outside the tent. I also moved my tent away from an eastern facing wall. Combined the temp has been a steady 75-77 and the humidity is at 45% Rh steady. I have also ordered a portable air conditioner window exhaust kit to connect my exhaust ducting to so that it will stop dumping that heat into the room, and instead, outside. The part gets here on Fri. I think once the window is sealed instead of being open 4 inches humidity will stick around better, window let’s in desert air and it zaps the humidity. Last week has been a lot more relaxed for me. @KikiGee any input?

Hey what the heck! I thought I replied to this! They are looking great!

Great equipment selection too!

looking good in there! Got a couple spots I looked at the visual guide at Dutch passion and I think it’s calcium deficiency. Here’s pics… the first time I watered Outside of misting I watered through. I believe I washed out a bit of the nutrients and that’s why they have the spots now. I am guessing so please tag in anyone you think might be able to help. Nutes arrive today. Cal mag and ff trio.
On the positive(r) note got some pistils

@Covertgrower turning to you because I see your name pop up most often in my readings on ILGM.can you help me identify these spots? I thought calcium deficiency but I have zero experience so rather then guess, thought I’d tag a moderator.

Looks like some nutrients got splashed on the leaves, then the light burned them.
Happy help anytime.

This. More than likely just got some water/nutrients on the plants. Liquids on leaves act like magnifying glasses.

So the tent I wanted from ac infinity is out of stock till may so I just ordered a 3x3 from mars-hydro. I’ll get an ac infinity next time. Still got the fans and lights all should be here by next week. Anyone know will I need to slowly introduce the brighter light when the new one comes in?

You bet! I’m pretty excited. Wish the ups driver would get here…my area is all cleaned out all I gotta do is empty tent tear down rebuild and refill  I’ll share pics of my ladies tonight too. They have been responding pretty well to lst. Had one that got topped by accident (bent till snap. Lost two nodes but tbh the plant showed no signs of stress and now has two rapidly growing tops in its place. I’ll let you guys guess which one see if you can tell. My ol lady was handling the training and her heart about stopped till I was like, looks like we get to find out what happens when you top an auto! This hobby is better then mycology (IMO) Don’t get me wrong I love that too, followed by drone piloting. So much fun! My niece even composed a chillstep growing song for them…the doorbell just rang…time to get to work

Day 24
Old setup

New setup (have not mounted fan controls to tent yet, I’m tired.)
I can stand inside this one. It’s 3x3x6 Don’t they look happy?

And lastly, IVY. She is my runt/fave. She spent two days above soil with helmet head, knocked over 4 times in first week. You can see her in earlier posts with a spring around her as a crutch and in a red Dixie cup. Transplanted her to a very small pot (Just couldn’t toss her out) she is the most darling little dwarf. she has to be watered every day.
Tomorrow I will begin feeding nutes to my plants. They drink a quart of water every 2-3 days so seems a good time to begin. Gonna do 1/4 dose first week see how it goes then to half and if after 1/2 dose no burns, full feed time. The new light is at 18-20 inches above the plants I want them to adjust to the new intensity so I’ll let it sit at this distance for a day or two then lower closer to 15 inches if they haven’t risen to that point by then already. They seem pleased with new home, I know I am. Now to figure out the programming for the vent and intake fans.
P.S.
Just went to say goodnight and they STINK all the sudden. Good thing I got the filter installed today  @Dankloud @KikiGee @Covertgrower maybe one of you can tell me with the FF trio of nutes will I still need Cal/Mag? I have some but read that using FF makes it so cal/mag deficiency is unlikely. If I do still need to use it, how often and at what strength? I’m a touch nervous about feeding them so any hints, tips, advice, cautions, or advice REQUESTED. Thank you all for helping me along thus far.

Yes and follow the directions on the bottle. I used calimagic, I think it was 1-2 tsp per gallon.

Got those controllers mounted! Used safety pins into the rubber label, worked like a charm. These fans are quiet as a mouse by comparison to the other 4 inch fan I got with my kit. Not to knock Mars-hydro, they probably don’t even make theirs , these AC Infinity ones were worth the few extra bucks they work very very well. Each controller can control two fans. Sadly only at the same speeds, which is why I got two controllers. One for intake, one for output. There are 4 programmable settings high/low heat and high/low humidity. You can select to shut off any of the four triggers so I set intake to turn on at 81 degrees and at 60% power max. Then turned the other triggers off. On output I set the same temp but at 100% power (accounting for the filter). I also set the high humidity trigger at 55%, then turned off the others. It has been doing a master Job, better then when I was hovering over my tent in the beginning.
Feeding went good, nobody freaked out and shriveled up, Ph up to far and down to slow but I had never used the stuff before. It was pretty low strength so I do not anticipate any burn at all, keep my eyes open. Had another accidental topping so gonna back off on the training now some for this grow. Got some clips for lst for next grow and got proper plant tie (pipe cleaners are not really good for this task IMO.) Also splurged and got some airpots. Seen a lot of them in video on YouTube so gonna try em out next grow.
The new light is amazeballs! It’s so bright Lucky I got some led glasses (must have for LED users). Update again in a few days.

Sorry to be so late to respond, we have been on the road.

I use Cal Mag pretty much every watering except the flush. Cal mag is more of a transport mechanism for other nutrients. With distilled water it is a must. I thought I could get by without using it as our well water is hard, but they still showed a need. If the leaves look perfectly fine, then I might not, but at the first sign of cal mag def I certainly add it.

I hope this helps! Your grow looks amazing!

Full strength feed today! Ph ing went ok, slow still took like an hour to mix 2 gallons and get it ph’d. Is there an avg tsp measure for getting your PH up like a point or down a point? I got a 2 tsp syringe for doseing children’s cough meds which sped the process of mixing nutes up quite a bit. I’m gonna get a 5 gallon water jug to mix in the future feel like it might go quicker if I just mix all my feeding liquid in one container vs multiple gallon containers. Got some lst clips, I highly recommend them! You get a lot better bend without drilling or clipping the pot, no accounting for the give of a fabric pot, seriously check em out. They have multiple sizes so there are even tiny ones so you can start lst early, early. My airpots came, seem pretty cool, I’ll snap a few pics of em empty so you can all get a look if you haven’t seen em b4, using for my next grow. Got 5 of em @3.5 gallons each. (I went smaller for autoflowers, it just seems to me that the plant will not be in the pot long enough to fully occupy a 5 gallon pot) that’s it for now, pics below and update in a few days.
Airpots-

Lst clips

Family photo, don’t worry about Ivy in the middle there, she is pouting because she wanted watered yesterday and I made her wait a day so she could eat and drink, with her sisters. Hope you all have a great few days.

LST clips? Gotta get those next time!

How much pH up/Down will depend on how pure your water is among other factors I’m sure…

Can you clarify on what you mean by mixing all of your nutrients in one container? Typically you need to mix your nutrients separately. So you mix in your part a, b, etc separately into the water, then pH then water the plant. Just wanting to make sure you aren’t thinking of just mixing the required ratio of nutes into a single bottle. That’s a nogo
