I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to the newest additions to my family!

Hi @dbrn32!

No havnt got any calmag?
As its my first grow im trying to keep everything as simple and basic as pos
Unless you would say that its really needed ?!?

And yeah its prob a bit low in nitrogen for vegging as its a bloom feed?!?
Gona go back to hydro shop n see what they say!

Itā€™s really hard to say that youā€™ll need it for sure. Some soils are amended with enough to get a standard grow by. In my experience, led grows generally more likely to require a little more.

Iā€™m not really sure if using it as a nitrogen boost is even a good method to practice. Perhaps @Donaldj wouldnā€™t mind taking a look and weighing in? He has a vast amount of knowledge with this stuff. Not sure Iā€™d call it an emergency to run out and get, but if you have a few extra bucks, itā€™s not a bad bottle to have around.

I would have to agree with you fellas. Each nute manufacturer should have a feeding schedule you can usually find online and it will take you week by week as to what to feed the plant. You obviously have to take in affect the health and size of the plant as to how much but they at least tell you what nutes to use at certain stages of plant life. But grow show b used during veg and bloom during flower. And Iā€™ve never had a grow that I didnā€™t use cal/mag in. Once flowers start you will need it. Botanicare sells a cal/mag pretty cheap

Thatā€™s where Iā€™m at. I just try to stay away from a blanket statement like it will absolutely be needed. You say something like that, and then later find out the soil in use is loaded with dolomite lime, or another good source of calcium.

well i think in that case im not gona worry about calmag
as its only my first grow im now looking at it as a dummy / practice run

my original plan was to only have one plant which is what i based my set up on but had 2 seeds in the end so did them both so already things arent perfect (light footprint def being one of them)

i know theres prob a few things im doing / not doing that you would all recommend i do / dont do!

im not worrying about the ph level of my water or run off
im not worrying about ppm of the water n nutes
i didnt go from peat pellet to small pot to larger pot to big pot
my temps in the tent (for some unknown reason?!?) are well out of recommended range if only for a moment (got highest a lowest readings on my temp gauge but doesnt tell me how long it was at these temps for
im struggling with my humidity level as all my gauges give me different readings?!? might be spot on might not be?!?

so im happy with the fact that what im doing isnt perfect but as its my first grow i didnt exect it to be!
im jus grateful ive got all of you to help me learn on this on going journey!

I honestly use dolomite lime in my soil when I first pot them but a small amount. It does help a lot but when the flowers get real mature I usually have to add some in. I use Botanicare line and they pretty much have a schedule I follow and it fares out pretty well for me. I have to extent some of the schedule depending on the length of grow but Iā€™m not smart enough to do my own mix I guess so I follow the manufactures schedule. But cal/mag is not part of the schedule I have to have a bit of now how when itā€™s needed and that why I have all you guys. Lol

Hi @timmyv324!

Yeah i really dont know why the shop only sold me bloom feed n not veg feed too?!?
if u (or anyone!) thinks that i REALLY do need calmag then i can ask about that too but as said im not fused on using it on this grow as ive already got enough to worry about remember and learn from!

Yep, me too. Itā€™s a life saver! Only product I have from botanicare is silica blast. Most of them are somewhat similar though. For calmag I use earth juiced oily can. Itā€™s actually a nitrogen free source that includes humic acid as well. I throw a couple ml per gallon into a veg feeding or two, and then use a little more liberally into flower as well.

Well @man10101 I can tell you this much. Anyone can grow a weed plant. But if you want to smoke it or process it for any type of use . You will want to do your best to try to stay within these peramiters. Otherwise you will end up with a plant worth nothing in the end. Iā€™ve grown awesome looking plant that wouldnā€™t get you high after 3 joints . This was my first grow. Had a good light but didnā€™t care about anything else and like I said it looked good but had no THC. And once you see everything start flowering you are gonna want to enjoy it so if you can try to stay within these levels and you will b able to enjoy your bud. Itā€™s well worth the investment trust us

Itā€™s probably because he assumed your soil would carry you through veg period. Especially if you were hinting that you were newer grower and/or not looking to spend a ton of cash. Personally, Iā€™d appreciate a shop guy like that over one trying to shove 12-15 bottles of advanced nutrients.

Ha! Yeah i quickly learnt jus from being on here that it isnt jus a case of put a seed in a pot and stick a light over it!

I have learnt from what ive done and will carry this over to the next grow so hopefully my grows will get better each time!

yeah youre probably right
he wouldnt of know that i was gona put the seedlings straight into their final pot with all the soil so maybe the soil would of been fine if i had put the plants into their final pots when they were already a few weeks old rather than a few days!?!

Exactly how I use it to. I throw a little at it here and there but like I said when the flowers are kickin seems to b when itā€™s needed the most. Iā€™ve used Botanicare my whole time growing so I donā€™t steer to fat from it. I use some other types like Terpinator as a add in . But Iā€™ve had pretty good luck just doing what they tell you to for the most part . That probably why I stay with it cuz I know it pretty well and itā€™s affordable. I get pretty consistent grows with it each time. I see Snoop Dogg has a line of Nutes out now. Lol. My mom made her own mix but I never understood it so I went the easy route

and jus to confuse matters had another look in my goodie bag n found a bottle of bloom boost same make as the bloom feed?!? also got a feed schedule with no mention of bloom boost?!?

and i see what you mean @dbrn32
going by the feed schedule theres loads of bottles he could of sold me!

Yes indeed. I use about 7 different nutes just during veg then in flower I take some of those out and add others in for bloom. I wouldnā€™t think I would need a bloom booster until you had blooms . You need it to grow first. At least if you got the main grow nute it would give you most of what you need . If you grow a killer plant it will b worth the efforts

so as my plants are still a couple of inches away from where the net will be and adding to the fact that they will need a couple of weeks to recover form being topped and another couple of weeks in veg to almost fill the net before i switch to flowering im guessing i need a bottle of veg feed to see me through
off to the shop i go!
will pick up calmag while im there too me thinks!

wow thats a lota bottles!
yeah guessed the bloom booster would go with the bloom feed but as you said i need it to grow first!
gona get veg feed n calmag
Stand by for more questions!

You wonā€™t regret it brother once you puff in a big fatty of your bomb buds. Trust us we all put a lot of cash into this stuff only because it pays us back

There are other products that are a single nute through your grow process the u switch to a flower nute but Iā€™ve never used any of the single use nutes so I canā€™t tell u how well they work .
