Sativafan's... Indica Grow 🤨

Last grow was a single 7 gallon, nice plant but I need more product per grow cycle so here we go with 4 plants!

Seeds popped their heads out on 4/24 and I transplanted to their final 3 gallon bags today.
ILGM OG mix pack, 5 Skywalker OG seeds started. Will choose the best 4 and throw the 5th outdoors.

  • Method: 70% Happy Frog Soil, 30% perlite

Thanx @Mr_Wormwood

I already see a 2nd HLG in my future to get more even light across the area.
My wife hates new hobbies of mine lol

Yep looking good! This after transplant part always feels like it takes forever for me. I’m lucky in the aspect that I grow for my wife so she has no issue with my purchases, lol

First full watering to a hair of runoff, 5ml/gal calmag.

1 & 3 have nice fat leaves, 2 & 4 have a little thinner leaves, 5 is still the runt but maybe the 1g pot helped keep it lagging the others.
1 & 3 are ~ an inch shorter than 2 & 4
#2 is an inch above 4, not sure why that one wants to stretch more than the others.
I still think #5 is going outside but maybe #2 outside and keeping a short 1, 3, 5 and a medium 4 would end up a more even canopy… but maybe it’s too soon to tell and a crap shoot? I’ll give them more time and see how they go.
Topping in a few days.

Found a solution to the long HLG cables while still being able to only adjust 2 hangers instead of 4. Zip ties on each side of the carabineer. May put a bit of tape over them to make them more secure but they don’t move as is.

DLI might be a little high for this stage but the past day going from 350 to 450 hasn’t been an issue. Who knows how accurate that app is but better than I can eyeball it
18 hrs on schedule.

Topped 2 & 4 above the 4th node this morning. 1 & 3 need another day or so to get a good snip above the 4th.

Thinking of potting #5 up to a 3g bag and culling #2 so 3 out of 4 plants might be around the same canopy height.

No water today, bags still have a little weight to them.

Shorties are catching up to the taller plants.
Named #5… Felicia. Bye
Another ~foot and I’ll flip to 12/12.

@Covertgrower
Plants are 12" & 14", should I be flipping to 12/12 soon? I’ve got the height, but not sure about overcrowding.
Thanx

How large do you like your plants?
Based on that space, and rapid growth, I would flip them in about 2 more weeks.
I like to make sure the canopy is full, so I allow the mid canopy to grow together, then defoliate underneath to keep larf down.
Entirely up to you, and everyone has a different grow style. I like larger plants, with full canopy.

Getting a certain size allows for a little bit more maturity. Just my personal grow style. Anything step you take from here won’t be wrong, just different.

Thanx for the reply, to answer the 1st question… I don’t know lol. Haven’t ever tried to cram a tent full of plants.

Grew decades ago under HPS in a back yard shed with a partitioned off area and plenty of space. Last grow that you and the rest of the gang helped with was my 1st venture into a small grow space with 1 plant that left a lot of light hitting the ground in the corners.

I’ll give them a couple more weeks and check back in, thanx again!

Oh… and the HLG put out A LOT of light

Flipping to 12/12 tonight. I would say change from seedling to veg was around 5/12 so a little over 5 weeks, they popped out of the dirt on 4/23.

Cleaned up the bottom a bit and put a couple pieces of 2x6 under the saucers to get the shorties closer to canopy height of the taller plants.

@Covertgrower @Oldguy @Hellraiser @BobbyDigital @kellydans

So now I have a 2nd set of 2x6’s under the shorter plants and the taller ones canopy is still well above the shorties.

Shorties look like an indica strain, taller ones look like a sativa strain to me. This seems to be a little more than just phenotype thing. If they are sativa, I’ll have to ditch them because I dry in the tent and the sativa will be at least a week behind to harvest… and I’ll be running out of height for the tall ones soon

Do you think ILGM could have screwed up and mixed a couple sativa seeds in my OG mix pack?

More likely to be a different phenotype. It is still a hybrid, and could get shorter genetics.
My Fire OG is super stretchy in flower, marketing says it’s indica dominant, but when in flowering, genetics say otherwise.

They are damn near a foot taller and huge node spacing compared to the shorties though. The 2 boards under shorties distorts the difference.

Guess I’ll let them run till they grow into the light.

Wish I kept Felicia now

The spacing is a little bit of all conditions combined. Including genetics. I edited above post.
