I sprayed my plant with baking soda and water and now the buds are brown, is it still smokable?

We had a problem with growing this year, which resulted in an outbreak of powdery mildew, we thought we fixed the problem by spraying our plant with a baking soda solution, but to our shock the leaves and buds are brown, is this still smokable? Or is it a toss?

Welcome to the community. I personally wouldn’t smoke it washed or not. Sorry about the plants. I’m sure you’ll get some better opinions but yeh…

I would toss it if it were mine, sorry.
For the future spray with a 50/50 peroxide water mix after sun goes down.

I would toss it if it was just one of my plants. If it was my only plant I would try a few things.

First, baking soda is a safe thing you could consume no problem. By the spoonful. Unfortunately it also has a very high PH. You clearly have ph shocked the plant. I suspect enough spray dropped down into the soil to make it way out of range. Did you spray it profusely all over until it was a drippy mess, or did you do a light surface misting? I would soil slurry the top layer to make sure it is still not too high. Also, it appears to have been sun burnt as well. Did you do it in bright sun?

I see trichomes so it was a good plant. If that’s all you got to work with I would get stoned and sit there with the trim scissors on the living plant. Cut away all the fried looking plant leaves and baby buds. You would be surprised what a fuc*ed up plant can still do.

If you don’t do a soil slurry test I would at least do a couple good waterings with proper PHed water to make sure you didn’t just make the soil ph alkaline.

If I had a lot of PM the bud wash would be reccomended. No need to bud wash for the baking soda. Good luck and sorry for the tough break. Happy growing.

The first coupe of weeks into flower you don’t really want to spray the plants with anything. The pistols are very finicky at this point… As you can tell.
I personally wouldn’t smoke it. Your health is way more important. But… if you can let it grow out. Watch how it grows and how the postal’s but structure forms I response to the spray. Finishing the grow I the name of science.
Happy growing…
