I need Your opinion, yes! Yours! ...creating grow app

@PharmerBob I have started researching that… It’s going to be a while. Once I get the current functionality done… I’ll be adding more features.

Added the edit button and started the page… The input fields are all there but not constrained… So they, upon running, all stack up in the upper left corner. Hence, the line to the left of the page title.

But… It’s started.

I don’t fully understand but I am grateful for taking the input and I know it will come together because dang you been doing an awesome job

@Nicky The page should have edittext “boxes” which show as lines.

I have 18, two columns of 9, on each side. So the line in the corner is 36 edittext fields that stacked up… Because they aren’t being held into place by constraints.

Once complete… It will take the default regular grow and high growth numbers and put those numbers into the edittext fields.

Then you can change a given value or all of them… Once done… Hitting a future added “save button” will save the users changes and you’ll see the changes once the Chart is reopened.

Again… Adding the placeholder for the feature was my main goal…
Been up since 6am getting house ready for wife’s mother’s day…

Amazing what I got done today… Dishes, laundry, shower, fed kids, ran to store… Coded the edit feature… Then my wife woke…

@PharmerBob once I get to that portion… It shouldn’t be too hard to implement it as my app is Java based… Node-red is Javascript.

I may need your help and advice once I start. I hope you won’t mind me picking your brain on that aspect of the programming.

I almost have the dli chart edit feature completed.

I have a bug to overcome but so far once the settings page opens it shows hint text which is populated with the default dli regular and high growth numbers.

If you enter new numbers and save… It creates a user data file on an android device… Within the app… So i do not have to ask for permission from the user to see all their files.

It writes all the data… The reading back is good, but showing the data is kind of funky… I’ll get it… But funky.

I’m hoping by the end of this weekend or before I’ll have your request complete.

This request has truly lit a fire under my ass to get other coding done I’ve been putting off… Like the plot button… Once your suggestion is complete… I’ll pretty much have the plotting stuff figured out then as well… As they are similar in ways.

Once these two are done… The DLI portion should be completed.

So far complete:
DLI to PPFD Converter

I’ve decided to redo the way I’m calculating the leaf vpd… I am basing it on celcius… Still offering fahrenheit but instead of having one calculation for each… I’m going to convert fahrenheit to Celsius then calculate… It’s more efficient coding and a bit more accurate.

So that will be a bit… But again the plotting will be figured out as it’s similar to the dli plot code.

So @Nicky thank you for the :fire:under my :honeybee: hind.

Any more features… Calculators, etc? Please let me know.

Upon initial edit button push this opens your page

After saving the page closes… Upon reopening the first line 19.0(which was saved in previous step) is darker… Thus is what I am going for…

But that is my initial test… Now trying to get all the custom info in…

Like this chart?

thats for autos.

The other chart was for regular Photoperiod.

I can add a choice for auto or regular Photoperiod.

It shouldn’t matter, auto or photo, we are shooting for 60 DLI for maximum growth.

However each plant will have different responses to lighting needs, smashing the plant to fast with heavy light can cause stunting it just as not enough will cause stretching and less bushy growth.
On the tail end we want to avoid heavy light because the heat and the light stress can dry out plants in the end of flower, less terps and heavy cal mag issues causing yellow and brown leaves.

Balancing act

This is a rough guide here via the red line, I should fine tune it over a couple grows but haven’t rly done that and won’t be growing till fall again.

@Nicky so that’s what the red line is on that chart.

I can easily add that info once you’re done with testing.
Plus, the way the app is written now… You could add it as custom data.

It would take me until this time next year to fine tune the exacts, however the line as is provides a great estimate.

Anyways now you know and yes this is why we wanted the edit button.

I figured I would just ensure your standard recommendations are of good value, so the chart you provided above for the “autos” I would say bump the max to 60 not 55 and set that as the default. Should be close.
By week 5 we would like to be at 60 DLI if possible or sooner.
But your is close.

Ps have you not read the first post on my DLI thread?
