Just need get the helmet off.
Its best to do it soon as possible and im surprised its made it this long, it has to be a strong little thing i imagine 
Wet it down good and let it soften up, and very carefully remove it anyway you can, theres some videos on YouTube showing how to fix “helmet head” it ya want check them out first may help if it’s stuck on there good.

I just learned something else new - good day.
Part of the “helmet head” issue might be due to planting too shallow.
It doesn’t get drug off by the soil. Hmmm.

I had been misting it down, but sure enough. Soaked and soaked, flipped it off. It’s sleep time, I’ll give it two days of light now to see if it can survive.

no you are good, I get it, and I’m sure a lot of us would feel the same. Just an ILGM thing. They also like to leave threads open if possible, helps others find answers.
Hoping for a recovery! I hate when the shells get stuck like that.

Unfortunately the root and stem don’t need the leaves and most likely what’s in the shell has died, deformed or rotted
If the shell doesn’t come of within a couple days I manually detach it. You get pretty good at that as you do more grows and a fine pair of tweezers really comes in handy.

Alot of us here are older so we know what you mean. If you are gone, sorry to see you leave such a great environment for canna culture. If you are not gone, awesome. Alot of us here love to share more than pot pics. I do not know what word was offending in your post title that was edited but if you are an older guy, then I know you know what respect truly means and vulgar words although may not be offensive to me personally, but some do.
