There is a lot of different advice on here, a lot of information to absorb, so I’m just going to ask and see what suggestions I can get. This is a fun new Hobbie and I smoke for PTSD. I’ve only been growing this one plant, it seems forever, but I’m curious about my lights. I’ve managed to keep this baby alive. I just don’t know if it looks right. It’s been through a lot… go easy on me. the lights are LED IPOWER 45 watt, it’s blue and red like a square lighting over the one plant, help? Is it enough, it’s in a stand up tent by ipower too
@Jamie1234 welcome to the forum,you in the right place mate happy growing
@aussie123556
Ty, I’m waiting, just been trying to figure this all out over the last 4 days, and it has already helped my sick plant a bit being in such short time
We usually say we want 50 watts per square foot of grow space. The are many other variables but that’s a place to start.
And welcome aboard.
Welcome to the forum @Jamie1234 I’m not a indoor grower but there are several (under estimation) If you need to ask some one a question just put a @ in front of their name @Jamie1234 @Countryboyjvd1971 @Hogmaster @garrigan62

@Jamie1234
The light you have is probably ok for veg but youll want more power in flower to grow those big dense buds we all love
You can grow to finish under your light but your yields will be lower
@PhantomFarmer has mentioned a good rule of thumb with the 50 watts per sq
Other factors also figure in but its a good place to start
I have a similar light that i use for sprout and seedlings after the second or third week i move them under stronger light
Min 300w leds fixtures is what i use in veg
Welcome To ILGM ?
Your plant will need light that at least 600 watt or better. You seem to be doing very well as a first time grower.
I see you have meet a few of our staff
If you ever have a question don’t ever wait you ask…ok
Great to have you in the family

@garrigan62
So I need a bigger light, would a drop light do and what watt do I need for the following plant, photo below, I only have the one plant I did the stretching and topped and had a lot of pH problems. It’s in its permeate home it also looks like it’s about to flower. I’m not sure what to look for. Ok ty
@Jamie1234 what type of budget so you have for lighting? This info would help is guide you
Shop lights and what not aren’t the best options and results will suffer
But spending your money wisely you can get some nice inexpensive but proper grow lights
You’ll need no less than 150 LE D p light you can find them on AMAZON
@garrigan62, thank you for your advice. I found a 300 watt on amazon I’m going to buy…it should help a lot of my problems. Ty
@Countryboyjvd1971, how’s it going?
Well I’ve been doing some shopping on amazon. How important is the PAR? The reason i adk is it has the blue reds yellows and white, but it said something like its not over powered with it. I found a 300 watt, desent priced, but can get a 600 for just a few $$ more. Is it better to get stronger lights? Any opinions on fox farm food mix?
Hey @Jamie1234
If it was me I would probably gi with the stronger light yes par ratings are important when dealing with Led lights
Can you post a link to the lights your looking at
So we can review the specs ? This would help me
In most cases leds panels are not what the mfg states so it can get confusing for sure
Uou can get two of the 300 w panel instead of a 600 w panel as well this will give you a little more flexibility and will cost about the same in the end ?
As far as the fox farm line of nutrients i have used them and like them i still keep some on my shelves because it works good lol
Im playing around with a few other lines as well
I suggest you get the Dirty dozen stater pack actually of you can afford it right now comes with all the extras to really givevthe girls whatvthey need
The liquid trio is a good base set as well if your budget doesn’t allow the dirty dozen set
Happy Friday @Jamie1234
@Countryboyjvd1971
Here’s the link and ty. My tent is just an average size one, so I have to make sure it will fit
@garrigan62, okay so I found this one, would it do me justice? I want to start another one. I think I’ve messed something up along the way. I’m seeing some brown spots again. I guess it really needs some nutrition at this time.
Well ty, here’s the link
That ain’t no 300W, bro, it’s actual power draw is 138W, I’m sure people are telling you you need 300w ACTUAL draw and not the “this is equivalent to” guesswork on Amazon and such like where they say that their 138W is equivalent to a 250W HID lamp so is a 300W light.
You have to be seriously careful when looking at these things, sometimes the devil isn’t shown in the detail.
I’ll leave it to others to determine whether that light is any good or not.
I think most of the LED lights on amazon show what they are equal too and then the actual watts which are about 1/2. I have the viparspectra 450 reflector series “actual 200w” and the 300 “actual 136w” Both are good. They also have a 3 year warantee. I didn’t notice on your link but the viparspectra can have one light go out and not effect the whole light. I hear the mars lights are good too. I am new here as well. The members here will get you pointed in the right direction.
@Not2SureYet thank you
I just ordered another 450 tonight. I am happy with them.
