I found a full grown seed in week 4 of flower

OMG so this morning I cut off a sucker branch and was observing it and I found a seed buried in the bud, a big old seed to. Now I’m in super panic mode and don’t know what to do, I have three autos and two photos in this room and I’m worried about everybody else now. It was only one seed that I found but I’m sure there is many more being made as we speak. What should I do in this situation? I would really hate to kill this baby 4 weeks in. Can I get some opinions please?

Seeds are not a complete disaster. You will just need to clean any pollinated buds before using them. You may have had a nanner that matured.

You are correct, you may find more seeds. Don’t be too concerned. Most of the weed that we used to purchase was more seeds than dope. We still got high, it just didn’t taste as good. Perhaps a slight reduction in potency. That means you will use a bit more for the same effects. :vulcan_salute: :man_mage:

Edit: I am currently growing regular seeds and have kept one male alive in order to get some seeds on purpose. I am not a breeder, I just thought it would be cool to get seeds from my own plants.

Do you suspect any male plants? Im not too knowledgeable on this but seeds are not terrible. May just be an anomaly? Some of the cultivators might pop in with better introspect on it. @OGIncognito you got any insight on it?

No, there is no full male plants in there. Everything’s been flowering for about a month and I just found this seed in my plant that came from a snowball bagseed. My concern right now is, will this hermit plant cause my other plants to hermy? I always here whenever you find a male to kill it instantly but I’m wondering if the same applies to a hermied plant?

So my last auto produced some “nanners” and a few seeds. I’ll search around a bit see what I can find. I wouldn’t worry too much. The “kill immediately” comes from a known male and pollination occuring rapidly. Since you have no male I don’t think its that critical but something has occurred to make this plant go into survival mode or its just a genetic or anomaly type issue. Im gonna search a little.

@SausageMahoney cool I appreciate that. I’m researching a little myself right now and seeing it’s a difference between a pollen sack and a seed. I’m not seeing any pollen sacks, so as long as there’s no major pollen sacks on the plant I shouldn’t have to worry about it pollinating the other plant correct? Like if it’s just making seeds inside the buds, then it’s just going to be some less potent weed right? That’s fine with me as long as it don’t f****** the other babies you know

If you look at my picture you will see I have a frame around my plant, maybe that part was just resting on it or maybe trapped against the wall or something like that that made it herm huh

I was finding the same. It seems to be an odd occurrence every now and then. 10-4 just keep an eye on it. Learnin every day in this place.

I guess I’ll just let it go unless it gets too bad. But look check this out on my other plant you know how the pistols are supposed to be white and long, well on a couple spots on this plant, the pistols are already red colored and they are not sticking out but it’s only in a couple of places, what could that be?

@Jayjay504 I’ll get a plant occasionally with a few seeds. If you haven’t noticed any nanners along the way that could self pollinate that plant and the others I wouldn’t stress over it :love_you_gesture:

@OGIncognito @SausageMahoney hey so I just got home and went in there to check the scene out and I noticed the seeds are growing inside the calyxes I thought it was just a swollen calloux and I squeezed it and out popped a seed. It looks like there’s seed hidden all throughout the plant, what should I do? Do you think my other plants or screwed? Please tell me what to do should I get rid of this plant?

You may have an anomaly that would likely produce feminized seeds?

Look up parthenogenesis… in plants. Its a biological process where a female can pollinate herself.

This is my sentiment too. It is not what you hoped for, but it is not so bad as to start over. Unless you have 12” clones ready rock you are committed. This is hopefully not thru all the buds. Honestly, sometimes nanners are buried deep in the bud and you cannot see them. No matter how well you look.

I would maybe plan for earlier harvest if it’s looking very seedy, :eyes: and get your next grow started if you aren’t running some sort of cycle.

This is highly possible.

Pop that big seed that popped out @Jayjay504

@noddykitty1 @SausageMahoney @SausageMahoney @merlin44 well I noticed there were seeds all through the plant, they were all hidden inside the buds but they are big seeds. Anyway I started tripping yesterday and called my nephew-in-law to come pick it up so I can get it out of the room and he can try to experiment with a plant that’s budding already. Now I am just worried that my other plants might be infected. Now that I got that big plant out the room the room seems much less crowded, so I’m really not even mad that that had to happen. I have seven plants in my vedge closet that’s ready to go so it’s all good, just letting you know what happened

I have had a seed here and there and never found the first male part (aka nanner) :man_shrugging:

Imo, 1 seed isn’t a big deal but that one would keep me on alert. I would look them over very well and just watch for nanners.

You want get many seeds without clearly seeing nanners so if you’re just giving them a look over daily and not finding and nanners then I’d say there’s no reason to do anything other then just keep an eye out for male parts.
If that seed is mature then let it dry for at least a week or 2 and plant it
