I accidentally mixed ph up and down in my coco help

Hi! I’m hydrating coco and I already have 2 gals of water with ph up, since jacks lower the ph, but then 3rd gallon was a big messed up. It overflowed and spilled everywhere so I just dumped it in but oh crap , I forgot to ph the water. My dumbass uses the wrong bottle so I tried to put in a few sprinkles of ro water that is ph around 8, is the coco useless now or is it salvageable ?

Flush the coco with water at a PH of 5.8. Test the run off from the flush to make sure it’s around 5.8-6.0. I edited the F bombs from your post Growmie :love_you_gesture:

You can absolutely wash the coco like OG said, but I wouldn’t use it as is. RO water can’t be pH’ed just by adding Up or Down. It has to have something with a stable pH added such as silica or calmag. Add one of these first. Then your jacks.

I very rarely have to adjust pH after mixing Jacks. I grow in coco and adding silica first, then Jacks, my pH hits between 5.8-6.0 every time. Silica raises pH, so starting with lower amounts in the beginning of the grow keeps the pH on the lower side. Increasing throughout the grow raises the pH, but still stays in line.

Only when i start switching up Jacks ratios do i sometimes adjust pH

As said already, just wash/rebuffer it with a 5.8ph solution. Tds of that solution needs to be 100ppm or “there about”.
As pointed out, water with really low or no tds can’t really be ph balanced as there needs to be a little bit of EC ( Electro conductivity) for a ph meter to get a reading on.

I use distilled or filtered water and i add calmag till it’s right at 100ppm, ph to 5.8 and use that to wash my coco-coir before use.
I do use regular 0ppm water to expand my bricks if im not using it immediately.
Then it gets the 100ppm at 5.8ph drench/wash before use…
Many people reuse coco-coir over and over, just wash it good and rebuff it, and it will last many runs

Just as OG mentioned up top.
Give the coco a good watering with 5.8 ph and you should be golden.
Good luck
