Hi growmies I have just purchased some integra boost 55% packs which do around 8grams does that mean I need to add more of the packs to acount for the 90g in my jar, much appreciate the help and comments
yes that is what you need to do
The 8 grams refers to the weight of stuff in the packet and has little to do with the gram weight of weed you are storing. You don’t need a gram of the stuff for every gram of weed. A single packet is sufficient for a quart jar or bag with a zip of weed in it.
I’m assuming you have some hydrometers in you jars to monitor the temp and humidity
Something like these will work.
12 Pack Mini Digital Hygrometer Thermometer LCD Display Outdoor Indoor Temperature Humidity Meter Gauge Monitor Aquarium Thermometer for Baby Room Bedroom Cigar Humidor Guitar Reptile Greenhouse(℉)
And you’re going through the drying and curing process. I use wide mouth quart size mason jars for storage.
Once completed and your buds are around 55-65% you can store them. That’s is where the boost packs come into play. To raise the humidity if it drops below 55% in your storage vessels. By keeping your jars in a cool dry and light deprived space you should be good to just check weekly.
I’m on day 10/11 I have a hydrometer in the mason jar it’s been around the 57%_59% didn’t know if be good to put pack in there to help bring it down?
Not used before with my curing thought I’d see if they the hype or just waste of money cheers ppl
They work. I use Boveda packs, but expect that they are pretty much the same.
I use them for long-term storage, but not for curing. Some claim that they can impact flavor and smell if you use them during the cure.
What are you storing them in during cure? You should be burping them every three days or so at this point. Depending on the humidity when you finished the initial drying stage. This usually done by hanging or laying flat on a sheet of newspaper. Once they are 7 days into drying you would be placing in jars or bags to finish the curing process. Which is your current stage. Burping or releasing built up gas each day or three until your humidity level is where you’re at now. Continue to burp every three to seven days for the next two weeks. If you go below 55% humidity is when you should place a bag into the storage vessel. This should keep your fruit at the 55% mark.
Jar-ed weed does well with single packs and RH measuring device.
Two become Bag with insurance and ability to monitor curing, as we try to slow and avoid mold.
@MidwestGuy has more experience and is right.
Fondling daily as burping continues, until 63 achieved.
62% Packets employed since jaring.
Mostly stable RHs, but occasional burp too much, add another green bud.
Until I learn different, 60 days storage calendar, achieved.
HNY and Good Growing to All
58% is cigars and 62% is typically for cannabis fyi. ![]()
