I have 8 flowering plants in my 4’ x 4’ x 6’ 3" tent and I’m having problems keeping the humidity down, especially after I water the plants. Some of the plants will go outside as soon as the weather permits, daytime warm enough but not nights. (That’s why I have so many in the tent) Anyway, the humidity runs around 60 most of the time, how much damage is that doing to the plants in the flowering stage. I do have a regular basement dehumidifier, should I put that in the tent and run it for a bit?
60% isn’t all that bad your still in the normal range. As long as you have good enough ventilation it won’t be a problem, or Atleast definitely shouldn’t be @Bobbi
I think you are OK but give them plenty of ventilation. Moving air will help greatly. How cold is cold at night?
@ Majiktoker Thanks, good to know. I was going by the 40-50% chart. I have two fans blowing over them and one small fan blowing air in from outside thru mesh. Do you know the best position for the heater? I have it in the corner as you can see in the picture. Basement too cool so I do need the heater but it crams all the plants together on one side, saw one planter with 6 baby mushrooms growing. Can’t hang the heater either.
One more problem while I have your attention, I tripped yesterday and fell backward on one of my plants. Broke the whole top off, see picture. Broken stem is rough, will that heal itself?
In the 40’s at night
Can you put it completely up against the tent is so you could Atleast shift one plant back to the right side and move them down away from the heater.
Also if the broke spot is where she looks topped then yes shell heal her self with a little bit of time
I could space them apart quite a bit if I could face the heater toward the tent wall but don’t know how the heat would bounce off the wall. Anyone use their heater this way? Could I center the heater facing the wall with two plants on each side and 6 behind?
Never tried with a heater, id imagine it works well. I do it with fans and it works great (the oscillating fans so when it rotates it bounces of the walls at almost every angle including getting the plants) I would try it its worth a shot
Especially if you have some air movement.
That’s getting down there, but my WW and OG Kush both saw Temps (under cover) of 38f with no problems at all.
Mine are white widow, think I’ll do some re-arranging this afternoon. Thanks for all the info everyone.

Whew thats a little warm lol you’ll get it @Bobbi
What I did last winter was use an aquarium heater in a 5 gallon bucket underneath the plants (only 18" tall) and set it to 85. Worked absolutely beautiful. Plus it’s an immersion heater so safer around moisture.
yup i agree with @Majiktoker 60 isn’t that bad but don’t let it get any higher ok
Will
I have a 1.2x 1.2x 2m tent with 4 O.G Kush about a week since hitting 12/12.
I live in the tropics so humidity and temp are always high.
Because of the cost of electricity and extra heat from a dehumidifier it seems out of the question.
The 4 plants are in Coco Perlite mix and hand watered every other day.
My humidity is hitting 85%, with a low of 70%
Temp is 26’c high 23’c low.
I have ample extractor fan, a 180mm oscillating fan above plants and a small fan blowing very little in ducting. Going to put 150mm clip fan around base of plans area.
To try help with humidity I’ve just put in 4 “Damp Rids” as a start.
everything above my screen is doing well (only my 2nd grow, so very much a novice!!) however the leaves below are veryvery sad. Is this due to the humidity, or am I overwatering??
Thanks,
Jay
Ps, Don’t know why the pics have come through sideways and upside down!!
Could be because the bottom of the plant isn’t receiving as much light as the top
They are definitely not getting light.
It’s 7 days since 12/12, I tried lolly popping before turning, but not there is so much I debate whether I want the energy spent there, but I’ve been told not to trim after turning.
If I did a trim under my screen today would are the possible outcomes, I’ve been told 2 weeks of shock, could it be that bad?
No that’s not, true if they aren’t getting light it would actually benefit the plant and actually make use of all its energy instead of wasting it on whats not photosynthesizing
