Hugh85’s Grow Journal

Also silica helps now. Will stiffen all limbs but will speed up the knot on the bend.

Np. Super early. Plenty of recovery time.

Ive read they recover decently into the 3rd week and after that they stop growing roots etc

Actually they just stop vegging. All leaf damage will stay. I switch to flower watching then for new growth. Just me.

@kaptain3d what kind of recovery time am i expecting?

If water/feeding is on point, 2 to 3 days and growth should resume as usual.

If she’s slow, up to a week…

just figured I’d point out that the question rarely will they recover, but how long will it take. I’ve even stabbed broken branches into the ground and grown another plant. It just takes a little time. That’s why we try to limit stress through flower. There is a limited period of time between starting flower and ripe buds. We want them to put all their effort into building big quality buds instead of repairing themself.

Mine split almost every time
Sometimes they’ll straighten back out to where they were unless you use a stake to tie it to

For sure I flipped to 12/12 on the 2nd so i think im gonna be good on the time for her to recover nicely

Thx @plumbdand i was a bit worried

yup I wouldn’t even call those flowering just yet. Still in transition.
As for why they are splitting in the first place, In my experience it’s hard water or too much Ca locking out K. K is responsible in part for making stems strong and flexible. Excess Ca can also lower absorption of P which would cause the purple stems. I know we thought it was genetic, but the hard, brittle stems have me questioning that. I’ve had heavy Si cause super rigid stems too, but I doubt that’s the case here given your soil mix and nutes.

Possibly you’re correct but everyone in the grow off has had the same issues so :person_shrugging: plus i got a way better ph meter and have realized the old one was so off it screwed up my ph for a minute. Thx for adding your input my friend @Gl1tch

For some reason my head was still stuck on hazeberry. This was the Northern lights BX? The last NL (ILGM seeds) I grew was very prone to showing purple with the least bit stress so I would agree that’s probably normal, and probably not a big deal. The brittle stems might still be something to keep an eye on for any further signs of trouble.
