How to get rid of Fungus Flies

I am not sure how many of you indoor growers have an insect problem - usually something in the soil that hatches and eats roots and annoyingly flies around. Flypaper, Neem oil, Sevin Powder, etc all work to a degree and that is also using unneeded chemicals. Quick solution - cheap, easy and all natural.
The day (or 2) before potting seedlings/seeds - set up the pots with soil and pour boiling water over the dirt and saturate the with boiling water. Kills all larvae, eggs, bugs quick and fast. Make sure soil has cooled before planting. Enjoy the bug free environment.

Be careful, though, this can kill microbial life and beneficial fungi.

For the aphids fungis nats white flies or leaf hoppers. I use the home remedy of peroxide and warm water with a little dawn dish soap. Seems to do the trick but it’s something i have to keep up on for a couple weeks or so until it’s gone. I make it each time i need to use it. 8 oz spray bottle mostly warm water. I add just a few drops of soap. Its 1part peroxide to 5 part water. I’ll spray leaves and also put it in the soil. Not a lot just enough to get the top soil wet looking. I also use those fly strips. What ever helps really haha. Good luck to you.

Mosquito bits soak some in water then use that to water your plants. I mix them into my soil as well. They sell them at just about any big box hardware store.

This will kill the larvae so you need something like Captain jacks dead bug to kill the adults. Also use sticky traps to catch the adults

I did the captain jacks and I still keep it on hand. My final solution was a bug zapper. For those pesky insects that like to fly around and wreck havoc.
I used a bug zapper in combination with Captain Jacks and got rid of them.
I also clean my rainwater with an aquarium carbon water filter.
For the past couple of years I’ve stuck to DWC and stop using soil and coco medium.

Try fish shit . It’s got nematodes
Just google it. It works great for me in soil and the root ball filled my pot

Mosquito bits gets rid of fungus gnats

U can get the medium wet and throw. It in oven for 30 mins or so on like 200 that will heat up the medium and kill the larvae and any big inside also. It does make the house really stink like dirt but it gets rid of the buggerz

Here is something that I kinda swerved into, but it works great at killing gnats. Since I am using RO water, I use this for cal/mag supplement.

I scratch this in the soil surface a day or two before watering. Leaving this at their level in the soil for a while works much better than flushing through right away. I think it must be the lime in it, but anyway it kills the gnats and the plants love it.

I alternate between scratching this with dry nutes and feeding liquid nutes at 6.0ph. This keeps the soil ph in range, while giving a little ph bounce.
