How to feed the plants?

I have a plant in coco, growing indoors. Got some of the Jacks 3-2-1.

It gives instructions for mixing a gallon. My plant is small and I don’t water it a gallon.

Do I mix up a gallon of the stuff in advance and just use it to water as needed?

Or do you mix it up in the correct proportion for the amount you’ll water each time.?

(Sorry if this sounds ridiculous to ask. I have zero gardening experience)

You should never mix less than a gallon of jacks. Really even a gallon is pretty small, most shoot for 2-3 gallons at a time. Reason is when trying to measure out small amounts of part a and b the blends can become inconsistent.

The best way to store remaining mixture is with an air stone in it. Just double check ph each time when going to use aerated solution, it will creep on you.

Also worth noting the folks at JR Peters said the premix is usually viable for about 7 days in a lidded container. I’m guessing most of us could burn through a gallon in 7 days.

I’ve got four little plants and am currently mixing a gallon at a time of Jack’s. It lasts about 3 days between mixings and no issues. Plants are happy and healthy.

@Edmond-Dantes the easiest way is 4 gallons in a five gallon bucket with lid. Then put one gallon at a time in your watering can

Besides being a great fertilizer it is comparatively inexpensive vs other nutrients. that way, if you end up screwing up a mix or want to use a fresh mix, it isn’t the end of the world to toss on the garden or on house plants etc.
Get a wavemaker or two. I use them to help mix the ingredients. Also when I don’t use it all at once
