I’m not ready to cure yet, have not harvested the plants yet. I’ve read several posts on how to cure in a grow tent, but I just want to cure two small buds for now.
I cut two buds to check for trichomes, but also want to try each one since they’re from different plants. Can I just put these in these small mason jars for a few days? I want to preserve the terpine smell and taste without getting mold.
I cut the buds, trimmed off the sugar leaves, took photos, then put them in these jars and sealed the tops.
You can see one jar already started misting up inside when sealed after 45 minutes…
Is there a better way to not spoil the test flower?
Ok, it’s winter and the humidity in the house is around 20%-30%. My grow room is 25%-62% daily range (an open room, not a grow tent). Should I just leave it out until it is dried and then do the curing?
I have never tried to cure an individual bud. Usually I will take a sample when it is getting close but to cure it seems pointless. Just leave it out until it is dry enough to smoke and give it a taste.
It’s a test bud, just quick dry it. Whether you dry it over 24 or 72 hours for a test bud doesn’t matter. It’s gonna be harsh no matter what - youre just getting a preview of the taste but you’ll get a good idea of the high.
I usually just toss a test bud in my toaster oven set to the “warm” setting for like 2hrs and it’s all good to try.
Test buds are typically just dried for a couple 3-4 dats and then just smoked.
Drying and cureing are 2 different steps.
Drying is all thst is required to smoke the buds, cureing just makes it taste better and keep longer…
Just lay them anywhere in the open air and in 3-4 days smoke them.
Sample buds, to me, are really only good for potency check. If you cut it too early, after dry and cure, it won’t be potent. If you wait, then you may as well dry said bud with the whole plant. I take a snip, microwave it for about a minute and a half on 30%. I take it out every 20 seconds to cool and put it back in. I literally just did this not 5 minutes ago and this is what the bud looks like. It won’t taste or smell great, because it isn’t cured, but potency test is juuuuust about to commence…
Like part of pulling a test bud is to … uhhh…. Test. So like you don’t want to take a week to dry it slow and low and be all careful with it. You wanna know if your bud is ready to harvest today.

Woah, I don’t think I can bring myself to microwave it. I’ll let it air dry for a day or so and then try it, hoping that I may get an inclination of the terpenes.

Lol it’s tricky. But low power, heat then cool a few times and it does in a pinch. And thank for noticing the Superman, and not just thinking I like fedora’s
