How tall is an auto-flowering gelato plant going to be?

I’m planning to grow four auto-flowering gelato plants in a 5 foot x 5 foot x 7 foot 11 Gorilla tent. I still haven’t made up my mind whether to use 5, 7 or 10 gallon fabric pots. A 10 gallon pot would obviously give the plants more nutrients, but also make them want to grow taller. I had planned to top and scroog them to keep them to a size not higher than 4 feet. However, I just read a recommendation made by @Hellraiser not to top auto-flowering plants. So what do I do? Which size of pot do I use? How tall are they going to be? Top or not?

The oot size will determine the pot size ok lmao, seriously if it’s a sativa dominant strain, they will stretch in auto flower, so act like it will is my best answer sir, it’s a a guy right now have 7 footers in a cram full tent with a 1000watt hood and thought since they auto , they won’t grow to tall and they in the lights now and he in week 6 and sativas can go 12 weeks easy , yes auto flowers sir , I know what the label says on the seeds , but ifs it’s that one seed that just do the opposite , I’ve been doing this a very long time , I’ve had it happen to many times to count .

If you learning less is best

Cash Crop must be a healthy consistent harvest from start to finish , no nutrient burns , it does matter in final quality.

3 final rule , Bigger the roots , the bigger the Fruits :cherries: !

When I grow autos I fim them & lst them they don’t get very tall as I won’t let them. They get fatter but not real tall. I’ve never topped a auto because of the limited time to come back from the shock, you don’t need to fim them either but I do suggest lsting to keep them short. There’s a Gorilla Glue auto about ready in my closet with about 23 good colas & its probably 3’ tall

Thanks, @yoshi . So 10 gallon pots it is. What about the size? How tall are they going to be well fed and under a 630W LED? Do I need to top them? Can I top them? Or are they going to flower too early to top them?

Thanks, @pillsbury. What’s “fim them” and “lst them”? Sorry, but I’m a noob.

@pillsbury
Let’s compare GG4 to GG4 in a fun way my friend, what you say? You have a GG4 right now with 23 Colas, this GG4 im growing is quadruple that size and I did not train it one bit , I revert it from flower back to veg back to flower .

FIM is when you cut just about 2/3 rds off the main growth on the top of the plant (just the newly forming leaves) and LST ing is bending the plant over & tying in place so it grows bent over & you can bend it a few directions to make it conform to your specs. here’s how.

Just a fun exchange of bud porn, I not picking in you, but since we at around the same flower time, I thought it would be cool to compare growers results.

I’m not an auto-grower so better to listen to those that do grow them, I only pass on what I’ve heard but times change and I know some growers do top their autos - but don’t wait too long to do so.

If your autos are healthy and growing nice. I like to fim at 4 or 5 nodes. Autos will start flowering anywhere between 4 to 7 weeks usually. You can get a stubborn one that will go longer.

I’ve had autos grow tall I’ve had some stay short and stumpy it really does depend on transitioning away from autos myself
