How pretty am I

I just cut off so many leaves …filled up a hanging basket

Still much more to do but already notice a big improvement!! The plant even seemed to have enjoyed it

Really is the Charlie Brown Christmas tree of pot plants

@oldmarine getting better thanks

That’s what Karla calls this one. The Charlie Brown pot plant.

@Hotstuffmom

I just received a notification that I may be hogging your space. Sorry if it’s true. It’s just my nature. Someone asks and I answer. Plus I’m not giving Windows control over my e-mail just to send someone a private message. Again, sorry if we are blowing up your notifications.

I apologize too …
@oldmarine thats funny
Crazy how some of them grow

I truthfully believe tho …it’s even happened to me …when someone post gets blown up …at least we are covering the topic asked about lol …but I was going to say it seems it’s how you learn the most …by reading and seeing what others do !!

I don’t mind at all this is the only way I learn

Below is a picture of my weed garden mixed with my flowers to hide since I am not allowed to grow here yet

I have great big banana plants. No one sees the 12’ green monster sitting next to the propane tank

I removed some of the leaves how’s she looking now.

Does she look any better

I think she looks great, but I dunno much as this is the first year I have ever defoliated :person_shrugging:

I need to see a picture of that

I don’t have a pic of that monster, but Polly sat there last year. The propane guy loved my banana and pepper plants. Didn’t even see her. Maybe he did.

We keep the giants out back now and all I have this year is bushes.

The bananas usually live on and around a concrete table in the front(?) yard. I currently have them in partial shade.

They’ll go back in Sept. Just in time for harvest

Looks good to me …u really got the interior of the plant opened up …

@oldmarine how do the bananas come out?
Wish I could grow those here but don’t think I can

Same boat here …I followed his advice
The poor man …he had to go full on Sesame Street terms to get me to understand …

Cut the biggest
Then the next biggest …
So on …

Lol…it really made such a huge difference and I finally understood his first answer about any leaf not attached to a bud site I intend to keep …as soon as all the big leaves were gone

I’ve never had any fruit on them. Several reason possible, The roots must be maintained above a certain temperature for 9 months for normal banana plants to fruit. I didn’t know that when I first got them. Also, and this is more likely, they are strictly decorative and will never fruit. I get little plants from the older plants when they grow from the roots. I have a few (7 or 8) and I have given away dozens.

Wish you was close I’d like to barter for one of those baby nanner trees.

I love your garden

This is my garden

I have one that is measured at 64 inches
