If I want to use a nutrient to make bud bigger next time in flowering stage what should I get? Is Cogos nutrient good?
@dbrn32 @Bogleg It’s been 2 weeks today since Buds were in mason jars curing. It hasnt got its smell yet still smells like hay and I have put 2 62 percent humidity packs in mason jars with them. My question is do I continue curing them and is the dank smell going to come back? I pinch the bids and it does smell like dank on my fingers. Also with using 62 percent humidity packs do i still burp them? If so I havent been burping them everyday. Broveda humidity packs says theres no need to burp them with humidity packs in jars.
Yes you need to burp them. I don’t cure with boveda packs either. Just use them for storage of cured buds.
Okay so when I start burping them everyday will harshness and smell come back? Also would ypu recommend me to take broveda packs out?
I’m not sure, I’ve never jarred my nugs for 2 weeks and not burped at beginning of cure. I would like to think it would just proceed normally from there. Double check you don’t have any mold setting in too. I don’t use the boveda packs for curing, so yes I would recommend you don’t use them either.
Okay. There is no mold thankfully. The room i have them in stays at around 57 to 58 percent humidity. I know i burp jars for about 30 minutes once everyday when should I burp them less? Will 4 weeks into curing burp them less?
Everything you should need to know about curing is in here
Thank you
Your welcome it’s helped me alot
A neat little device you may want to investigate is a hygrometer which shows humidity in your jar of bud. These little devices are on Amazon, and I think I paid less than $15 for a 4 pak. These devices are also made for keeping tabs on rh% in cigar humidors. If you buy these, and in the first day you see 70% rh or higher, take the bud out of the jar and let it dry some more in a paper bag or you may risk mold. Once you see 65% in the jar (my sweet spot), you’ll be ok to begin the burping/curing process. I highly recommend these inexpensive hygrometers.
You’ll burp more frequently and for longer durations during the first week of curing in the jar. There are grassy aromas that smell hay-like at first, so you want to get air exchange in the jar especially during the first week. Daily but less duration of open jar the second week, then start backing off the number of days you open the jar after week 2. I open EOD week 3 and every 3rd day week 4. You may want to add in a Boveda 62% pack to stabilize the rh% after curing.
Okay im ordering some now. Since I barely burped jars the first 2 weeks and just stuck 62 broveda packs in jars do I burp jars more for 2 weeks then burp them less? It seems burping them 30 minutes a day in different intervals are helping. I had also taken humidity packs out too.
Also I have done some research that I really want to experiment on with either my next grow or the next one after that when I get my 2nd grow tent. This is off topic but in some studies some people had done research that 432 hertz frequency music will actually make plants/crops grow faster. I dont know if its true or not so I gotta test 2 plants on that theory. Wondering if any of yall ever heard anything like this before?
I had checked humidity in jars and there on point but I have noticed the stems on bottom of buds bends still and it still smells like hay. I don’t know whether it needs alot longer to cure or not. This will be the 3 and a half week in jars today… No signs of mold or anything at all
The longer you let it. The better it will get
I guess that depends on a lot of Things I would be more concerned about the smell of her
So in other words it has alot more weeks to go? Usually with done cured buds the stem should break right? My question is, is it normal for the stems to bend like that in the 3 and a half week mark?
I mean the hay smell cut back a good bit from when I first started curing in jars but still smell hay like on them. I do smell a little citrusy aroma but a tiny bit the hay smell takes over. What I am confused about is when I pinch the buds and smell my finger it smells “dank” but only when I pinch it.
