Thank you so much for all of your advice. I’ll definitely save up but make what I have work for now
For reference, I grow 3 autos in soil in a space half your size and get ~2+ grams per peak watt used during a grow. What’s a decent yield to you?
These are my lights. 10 spider farmer SF-1000 lights. You can get them on sale all the time for right around $100 on Amazon.
I started with 2 and worked my way as i for more money. Then i built the frames. They cost about $150 for both.
I still have 2 more lights to buy plus the IR/UV supplement lights for each frame.
Each light fixtures is 30"x48".
Pros of my lights:
- each one is adjustable in brightness
- each one slides within the frame for best placement
- they are awesome and it’s customizable.
Cons:
- Took me a while to get them all, but I’m getting there. .
- the first two lights i bought are out dated and need to be replaced. But i will use them somewhere else.
Since I’m new I would be happy to get 4 ounces per plant right now
That’s amazing! I’m going to have to get mine one light at a time
There is nothing wrong with that. Find a light you light within your budget and get them one at a time.
I agree, go with what you can afford. Check marketplace around where you live for a used light. We all have a corner with equipment we have purchased, used then purchased better when we could. Good luck with your search and your grow.
So I have a 2x4x5ft I have two VIVOSUN aero light 100watts so your saying I will need around 3k watts of lights to get a great product over a okay one? I’m learning indoor been gorilla farming it for many years and got that part down but what lights would you recommend to achieve this? I’m starting to burn through money and looking to not get cheap but save if u can.
I don’t think that’s they said, nor should you listen to anyone that says anything like that.
How many plants and or grams of harvest do you plan to produce every ~100 days?
Depends on strain but if I could get around 10oz per plant given it has enough room so I’m only doing 3 in a 2x4 tent or would that matter? Like I said going from outdoor to indoor has its advantages and drawbacks as of now Candyland is what’s going. Photo. But I’m looking into a few other options on the site and possibly autos
1-2 grams per watt should be a reasonable goal for most folks that have decent ongoing management of their environment and related details…Temp, RH, Watering, PPFD/DLI, Airflow, Pruning, Training, Drying, Curing, etc.
I can run 3 autos, in soil only, in a 2x4 and get 2g+ per peak watt used (and could grow more if my flowering humidity wasn’t an issue, and/or everything was the same but the tent was a bigger), fwiw.
Oh gosh no… not cubic feet but square feet.
You have 8 square feet. You would need a minimum of 320 watts to give you a quality grow and harvest.
The 40 watts per square foot seems to be the given standard.
Thank you
Thank you for all your help and advice
That’s impressive
I used a 480w LED my bad for not adding that
The light is made my green beams and from I was told out of business
It does have samsung diodes and was about half the price of more expensive lights but from here on out unless I find something better I’ll probably just get HLG
Wish I’d picked up one of those green beams when I had the chance. I run two 150 watt HLG patriots in my 2x4 and have no complaints😎
Do you ever run them at 100%? Any idea what max PPFD/DLI you use from them during a grow?
I’m rarely at 100%. With the photone app on my Samsung I get about 1200 ppfd at 16”, which I think is the closest recommended, that’s about 50 DLI at 12 hrs. That’s measured right in the middle at 100%. I honestly don’t think it’s that high, probably closer to 1000 which is plenty. When I am at 100 I’m never at 16”
