How many photo/auto could I fit in a 30 gallon

So add four months to what the breeder suggests is harvest time? I can see why people grow large amounts. Wish wasn’t frowned upon here so I could feel comfortable with more than one. Disabled veteran with medical card was hoping could try to use “I couldn’t afford it” as a plea if anything went south.

You can fill a 2x3 space easily with one plant. Top the plant one time at about 6 or 7 nodes and spread the limbs out.
Happy growing :v:

It takes from 3 to 4 months from seed to harvest and another 3 or 4 weeks for dry and initial cure.

It is not difficult to get 12 - 16 oz per plant with excellent lighting and growing environment.

Is this for autos also or just photos?

Would 200 watts be good for one plant? I currently have the spider farm sf1000 and it’s only 100 watts but I have another one coming to daisy chain inside the tent.

In my opinion and using my methods that would be a minimum for a good yield. I have a 6’ X 7’ growing area with over 2200 watts of light (about 50 watts per square foot of canopy). I determine how many lights and how high using a PAR meter shooting for a ppfd of 900 or more at the SCROG net level.

I grow from four to six plants, usually four because I can’t use as much as I grow.

My grow log (Merlin’s Grow Log) has photos of my setup and plants over the past five years.

So you’re saying go watt crazy? I can see down the road I could possibly buy one that’s higher wattage but I’m also concerned of how much heat that may produce. Currently my tent gets around 83 with only one of the lights in it. I’m sure I could ramp up the exhaust and possibly go a little lower though.

I originally had a nars hydro 150 watt coming but it had a 240 volt plug that I thought was just insane for 50 extra watts.

During hot spells I have A/C in addition to the exhaust fan to control heat. My temperature is maintained from 78 - 85 F.

Even at 2200+ watts in my space, the light intensity at the SCROG net level is about half what the sun provides mid-day in my area. Many folks report light burn but I have never seen that. I crank the lights to 100% and let them grow.

I mean with a name like Merlin why would I not listen

LOL That screen name is just homage to Merlin the cat who died a number of years ago. Nothing magical going on here. LOL Merlin the Cat was a very large black cat that was followed by Blackjack, another very large black cat that recently died as well.

Yes auto or photo will fill space. I treat both the same.

And then add 3-5 months for good cure (past initial cure).

Is the 12-16 ounces for photos? Or autos

12 - 16+ for photos, usually right at 16. 8 - 12 for autos, usually around 10 or 11. I grow photos in 10 gallon fabric and autos (less frequently) in 7 gallon fabric.

Does the time for autos yield more overall for the time it takes photos to harvest? I’ve always wondered this

The autos that I have grown have finished in 95 to 100 days from seed. Photos take around 120 days but that is because I veg them until they are 60 - 65 days old. If I were to flip them as soon as they are sexually mature or run them 12/12 from the start, I could finish them in 95 days or so at the expense of some yield. @Covertgrower grows photo period plants on 12/12 from the start. He could offer a more informed statement on this.

Autos are very unpredictable as to when they will flower and how large the plant will get. I mostly grow photo period plants for that reason.

I suspect that comparing a photo period plant of the same exact size as an auto flower…the photo period will likely produce just a bit more but I have never really tested this.

Perhaps a more experienced grower can offer so insights.

From my personal experience , if you’re looking for more yield photos is the way to go. I have grown nice auto plants with
Large colas but buds Tend to be fluffy.
Good luck :v:

Thank you for the tag Dan
I’ve grown two plants in one pot a couple of grows ago. Didn’t have any major issues but they were autos the same strain in each of the twins pots. If they were different strains it would have been difficult to fix any issues of over or under feeding, watering etc. different strains need different amounts of each nutrient to flourish. I totally agree with all stated above
