I may have some people disagree with me and that’s ok, but over the past 30 plus years I’ve had some do really good on as few as 4 direct sunlight…but me personally I like 6 to 7…gives em time to rest a bit especially when it gets over 90… join the forum, a lot of smart growers here,
I agree with @Sittingbull64 on this. Minimum 6 hrs direct sunlight
I am an outside grower and mine are outside 24/7 and stay that way, and have no problems with high heat (109) wind, Santa Anas anything that comes they’re way. They are thriving! Good luck and best of bud to you!
Ill chime in i perfer min of 8 hour of direct sun myself outdoors and my garden gets around 12
But as @Sittingbull64 and @Sasquatch have mentioned you can grow with less
Heres a few guides that might be helpful
your to modest @highcountrygal lol
I would agree with 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight… but what I would tell you is to have your plants situated in a way that they get sun right when it comes up and then get shaded around 12 to 2 pm… the reason that I say this is so that the morning due and what ever other moisture that’s in the air is dissipated away as soon as possible… less likely to have mold or insect issues…
What do you use to shade your plants in the 12-2pm time?
Its called shade cloth , or just put the plants In an area where they get good morning sun and maybe some shade from some trees as the day goes on and gets later…
Sun tends to get stronger after 12 pm afternoon…
I am lucky, I situated the ladies to get the morning sun,and maybe 8 hrs direct sun. The heat here gets crazy,so sometimes the ladies have a hard time. The key word is discretion, so I can’t let them get too big…
SL out.
