I’m thinking 700w actual on each side, so 1400w of LED power total, good or bad idea? Heat shouldn’t be an issue.
I have 4 X 6 X 6 foot box grow with 3 ea 1,000 watt, 2 ea 300 watt, 3 side tube led’s as well. Probably running about that amount of total wattage actual.
I am using five of the 1,000W (~185W actual) lights in the same sized tent. With a 32 square foot tent I am slightly under the recommendation though, 925W actual of 1,024W required. Just started my first grow with this setup, feel free to follow along and watch me fall on my face. lol
Ayee sounds about right, I’m going to try get my actual wattage to 1.4k before flower ideally.
I’m really quite impressed by the light output from these led’s. My whole front end is done under a 300 watt Meizhi. Sprout through about 14" high. The plants are simply amazing. Once they are large enough they go into the big girl box.
May I ask what brands or rough price? I’m a newb and foolishly, before researching, bought a couple of 600W and a 300W LED’s but they only cost about $170 USD each. No brands and from China. Having done more reading, I don’t have a lot of confidence in them and wish I’d spent a bit more on some quality and reputable brands.
You go super ripped off my friend. The 600w from China shouldn’t run you more than 70bucks… get a power meter for 10 bucks and check their actual power draw, but after messing about for months buying leds and chatting with the community… you can’t get better than mars hydro 600w for price/actual wattage. When it comes to lumens it seems the meizhi 600w has better lumens/price than the mars. Annabonanannabonana. Not sure what film that’s off… ?
~275 - 300w actual draw or 1200w equivalent LED panel x 4 panels evenly spaced. For a total of 1100 - 1200 actual watts or 4800 equivalent watts during flower. You will only need about half of that during veg though.
Hwy brother!
Wouldn’t 32 sq feet needs more than that? 4x8 tent? @GrowManFitz
I get 900 - 1500 actual watts?
If you’re going to get LEDs save and save. I wish I did at first. Now I’m running 2 advanced ex-oil and damn the growth is huge. I gave my friend all the other LEDs I’ve bought. He’s using 2 600 marshydro, 1 VIP 200, roho 2 Cobb and 300 galaxyhydro. These are good lights and will grow big, they are nowhere near the growth of advanced and the heat is zero. I wish I didn’t spend the money on them and just got the better lights.
This is my findings and about $1,000 spent in wrong LEDs
Oh crap! Nice catch @bob31!!! That’s what I get for trying to reply as I’m pushing to get the family out the door to go to church. lol
That was per 8 square feet. I failed to multiply 8 x 4.
I updated my previous response. Thanks again!
You think spending 1000 on one LED panel is better than getting more watts from buying 4 x 250 cheaper ones? I was questioning buying a proper budmaster or something but haven’t made the leap yet. (still my first grow)
No problem brother @GrowManFitz I figured it was something like that! Thanks have a great day!
It’s not the watts. It’s the quality of the LEDs that’s key. The advanced are royal blue and the growth I got off this Kush is huge. The 2 plants under tower over the one under one marshydro reflector 144.
I wish I saved and just got the good instead of I need more now.
Time to go n puff puff some Thai. Happy night
I’ve got a Znet 12, which is pretty good from what I’ve been told, lenses over the leds to magnify canopy penetration or something… what would you advise getting then @Givemefire, not looking to spend 500… but I do need another LED

420 actual watts, reckons it replaces a 1000w HID which I highly doubt… your opinion would be sweet.
